Years of our life

Our years rushing by one after another
.
Sliding by, disappearing into the black hole behind us
.
Can you even remember them?
.
One from another that is, or do you just remember one or two significant years?
.
Bet you do
.
This challenging year 2008 how did you do?
.
Did you achieve what you set out to do?
.
Question are you feeling good now or slightly mad or sad?
.
And what are you going to do next year?
.
More of the same
.
Just see what comes along maybe
.
You can try however nature will probably thwart this lack of intent
.
With effort though the difficult year 2009 can be better than many
.
And yes of course 2009 will be a challenge for many if not all of us

Most years with 9 in them are challenging, don't believe me then look back

Maybe a nice thing to decide upon is not to beat yourself up!

Take a little time find just three things you did well in 2008

Three things that made you feel good

Three things you did for others

Three things that went wrong, and what happened as a result

What can you learn from them?

Let go of 2008 with thanks

It's gone for better or worse

Hold on to the good things let go of the bad

Appreciate what you have

Decide to live 2009 to the max whatever comes your way

These times are where we find out about ourselves

Whatever your choices we wish you well

Have a good one!

That Question

Is often raised in our seminars about why we do not remember previous lives

Simply put it would not help

Today you cannot remember many days from this life either

Don't believe me?

What did you do on the 1st of July 2001 at 1400hrs in the afternoon?

Are you kidding!

No just making the point that remembering what you did at that time is not important

Where and how you learnt lessons yes the impact of these stay with you and are important because they change or modify your behaviour

That's what is important

And in each new life these tendencies are with you as well

Which is why some children like this and others that

Some just know how to do things while their siblings have no clue

Some love music and easily pick up instruments, while others easily understand mathematics

Some behave like this and others like that

All this means that in this life you represent the essence of your experiences in previous lives

You represent all that you have learnt in previous lives

When it is your time to incarnate this influences the family you choose

The family you choose is perfect one for giving you the start you need

The start you need to face the major lessons you have come to learn in this incarnation

This family might not be the most loving or pleasant

However it will be the one you need in order to make the best start in life for those lessons

An example will suffice

If in your last life you were a drunkard and beat your children

Then in this life you could be in a family where you are beaten by a drunken father

All of us will experience these different lessons over our many many lives

Looking at the past history of human behaviour on this planet it is clear that many people are going to experience difficult lives

Indeed this is so

That another very good reason why you cannot remember details

It would not help

Out of body

Brain scientists have succeeded in fooling people into thinking they are inside the body of another person or a plastic dummy.

The out-of-body experience - which is surprisingly easy to induce - will help researchers to understand how the human brain constructs a sense of physical self.

The research may also lead to practical applications such as more intuitive remote control of robots, treatments for phantom limb pain in amputee patients and possible treatments for anorexia.
.
The research follows a related study from the same group last year in which the scientists convinced volunteers that they were having an out-of-body experience. It was the first time it had been done in the lab and showed that the intensely spiritual experiences that patients sometimes have while on the operating table, for instance, can have a scientific explanation.
.
"We are interested in how normal perception works, how we recognise our own body.

And we do that by studying these perceptual illusions," said Dr Henrik Ehrsson at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

"Critically it depends on the visual perspective and the so-called multisensory integration or the combination of visual signals and tactile signals."

In the new study Ehrsson and his colleague, Valeria Petkova, attached two cameras to the head of a dummy. These were hooked up to two small screens placed in front of their subjects' eyes. This gave the illusion that the person was looking through the mannequin's eyes.
.
For example, when they looked down they saw the dummy's body and not their own.
.
To create the illusion of occupying the dummy's body, the team stroked the abdomen of the subject and the dummy at the same time while the subject watched the stroking via the cameras on the dummy's head. As a result, subjects reported a strong feeling that the dummy's body was their own.

The technique is similar to the "rubber hand illusion", in which a subject can be convinced that a rubber hand is his or her own, but this is the first time the illusion has been extended to a whole body.
.
The illusion was so convincing that when the researchers threatened the dummy with a knife they recorded an increase in the subject's skin conductance response - the indicator of stress that polygraph lie detector tests rely on. "This shows how easy it is to change the brain's perception of the physical self," said Ehrsson, who led the project.
.
"By manipulating sensory impressions, it's possible to fool the self not only out of its body but into other bodies too."
.
Things got even weirder when the researchers dispensed with the dummy and put the cameras on the head of another person. After carrying out the same double stroking routine the subjects were convinced that they were occupying another person's body.
.
The illusion persisted even when the other person came over and shook the subject's hand, producing the sensation of the subject feeling as if they were shaking hands with themselves.
.
The researchers plan to use the out-of-body illusion to try to treat amputee patients that experience phantom limb pain in the arm or leg they have lost. "We have begun to realise that there could be a link between pain perception and the feeling of ownership of the body," said Ehrsson.
.
Another potential angle for research is body image in patients with anorexia. These people become obsessed with reducing their own weight even when they become dangerously thin.
.
"Possibly this approach could be used for new diagnostic tools and maybe therapeutic tools to train people better to recognise their actual body size," he said.
.
Another application is in remotely operated robots, for example in nuclear power plants or surgery.
.
"The hope is to elicit a full-blown illusion that you are the robot," said Ehrsson.
.
The results are reported today in the journal PLoS One.

Chinese cure for sorrow

There is an old Chinese tale about a woman whose only son died.

In her grief, she went to the holy man and said, “What prayers, what magical incantations do you have to bring my son back to life?”

Instead of sending her away or reasoning with her, he said to her,

“Fetch me a mustard seed from a home that has never known sorrow.

We will use it to drive the sorrow out of your life.”

The woman went off at once in search of that magical mustard seed.

She came first to a splendid mansion, knocked at the door, and said, “I am looking for a home that has never known sorrow.
.
Is this a place?
.
It is very important to me.”
.
They told her, “You’ve certainly come to the wrong place,” and began to describe all the tragic things that recently had befallen them.

The woman said to herself, “Who is better able to help these poor, unfortunate people that I, who have had misfortune of my own?”

She stayed to comfort them, and then went on in search of a home that had never known sorrow.

But wherever she turned, in hovels and in other places, she found one tale after another of sadness and misfortune.

She became so involved in ministering to other people’s grief that ultimately she forgot about her quest for the magical mustard seed, never realizing that it had, in fact, driven the sorrow out of her life.

Heat loss and more

The face, head and chest are more sensitive to changes in temperature than the rest of the body, making it feel as if covering them up does more to prevent heat loss.

In fact, covering one part of the body has as much effect as covering any other.

If the experiment had been performed with people wearing only swimming trunks, they would have lost no more than 10% of their body heat through their heads, the scientists add.

The researchers then decided to look at several other widely held beliefs to see if there was any published scientific evidence to support them.

In many cases, they found several studies that completely undermined them. "Examining common medical myths reminds us to be aware of when evidence supports our advice, and when we operate based on unexamined beliefs," they write.

Another myth exposed by the study was that sugar makes children hyperactive.

At least a dozen high-quality studies have investigated the possibility of a link between children's behaviour and sugar intake, but none has found any difference between children who consumed a lot and those who did not.

The belief appears mostly to be a figment of parents' imaginations. "When parents think their children have been given a drink containing sugar, even if it is really sugar-free, they rate their children's behaviour as more hyperactive," the researchers write.

The warning that snacking at night makes you fat is on similarly thin ice, Vreeman and Carroll discovered.

At first glance, some research suggests there may be a link, with one study showing that obese women tended to eat later in the day than slimmer women.

But according to the BMJ article, "The obese women were not just night eaters, they were also eating more meals, and taking in more calories makes you gain weight regardless of when calories are consumed."

The researchers also have some unwelcome news for those hoping to survive the festive excesses by turning to hangover cures.

After an extensive review of evidence for the curative benefits of bananas, aspirin, vegemite, fructose, glucose, artichoke, prickly pear and the drugs tropisetron and tolfenamic acid, they conclude that none has been proven to cure hangovers. "No scientific evidence ... supports any cure or effective prevention for alcohol hangovers," they state.

The most effective way to avoid a hangover is to consume alcohol only in moderation or not at all

The team went on to show that contrary to popular belief, the Christmas plant poinsettia with it blood-red leaves is not toxic, and that suicides do not rise over the holiday period

Mothers-in-law

Mother-in-law jokes are the staple and cliched diet of comedians but they mask the real family battles between a woman and her daughter-in-law, according to new research that reveals the domestic conflict being waged between women with the husband and son somewhere in the middle

According to the study of hundreds of families over two decades, more than 60 per cent of women admitted the relationship with their female in-law caused them long-term unhappiness and stress.

Dr Terri Apter, a psychologist and senior tutor at Newnham College, Cambridge University, who carried out the research for her new book What Do You Want From Me?, found that two-thirds of daughters-in-law believed that their husband's mother frequently exhibited jealous, maternal love towards their sons.
.
The behaviour ranged from that experienced by 26-year-old Jenny from north London, whose mother-in-law began emailing her two months before her wedding with messages saying, 'What you don't realise is that my son thinks about me every day, every minute of the day, every second of every minute of the day', to more common behaviour, such as making demands, being critical or intrusive, sulking and eliciting pity.
.
A similar proportion of mothers-in-law, however, complained of being excluded and isolated. 'My daughter-in-law is so cold towards me,' said 64-year-old Annie from Yorkshire. 'She begrudges any time or attention my son gives to me and takes every opportunity to minimise the importance and depth of the bond he and I have.'
.
Apter has spent the past 20 years interviewing hundreds of families across the world for her book.
.
She found that, while 75 per cent of couples reported having problems with an in-law, only 15 per cent of mother-in-law/son-in-law relationships were described as tense.
.
The typical 'in-law' jokes are told in a male voice and directed towards a mother-in-law.
.
For example: 'Two men were in a pub. One says to his mate: "My mother-in-law is an angel." His friend replies: "You're lucky. Mine is still alive."'
.
However, Apter says that the in-law problem is almost always between the two women. '
.
As they struggle to achieve the same position in the family as primary woman, each tries to establish or protect her status, each feels threatened by the other,' she said.
.
'Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conflict often emerges from an expectation that each is criticising or undermining the other, but this mutual unease may have less to do with actual attitudes and far more to do with persistent female norms that few of us manage to shake off completely,' she added.
.
For example, although a daughter-in-law is an adult in her own household, a mother-in-law's maternal expertise is already established and she may expect deference.
.
There then arises that tricky question about who is "mother" in the family, with final say over all those things women still assume charge over: housework and child care, meal times and children's manners,' said Apter.
.
The range of tactics admitted to by female in-laws harks back to squabbles in girls' cliques in primary-school playgrounds: long-term, low-key, and indirect attacks are used to exclude and criticise.
.
'I pity the young woman who will attempt to insinuate herself between my mamma's boy and me,' admitted author Ayelet Waldman. 'I sympathise with the monumental nature of her task. I sympathise with how much work she faces, but not with her.
.
In fact, the very thought of this person, imaginary though she is, sends me into paroxysms of a kind of envy that is uncomfortable to admit.'
.
Women in Apter's survey often admitted they were stunned by the impact and influence of their female in-laws.
.
'Much has been made of the decline of the family but the bonds between parent and child have not weakened,' she said.
.
'The reality and persistence of the extended family is one of the best kept secrets of modern times.
.
The only realistic way to approach marriage is to accept that there will be six people in the marriage bed.'
.
So why is the most difficult in-law tension that between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law?
.
Part of the conflict has its roots in the mother/son relationship, which contains an element of romance in a way that a mother and daughter bond does not, said Apter.
.
'This unique dynamic can trigger competition when another woman becomes the new closest kin,' she said.
.
But tension also arises from the new wife's expectation that not only will she be the most important woman in her husband's life but that, as daughter-in-law, she will be embraced, supported and left alone, all at the same time.
.
The man, meanwhile, must try to maintain and differentiate - or twin-track - the two relationships as son and as husband.

Buddha's words - 1

The Mind is the source of happiness and unhappiness.

The point of the teachings is to control your own mind. Restrain your mind from greed, and you will keep your body right, your mind pure and your words faithful. Always thinking of the transiency of your life, you will be able to desist from greed and anger and will be able to avoid all evils.

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.

The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.

There is no fire like passion, there is no shark like hatred, there is no snare like folly, there is no torrent like greed.

There is only one time when it is essential to awaken. That time is now.

Tho one man conquers a thousand men, a thousand times in battle, he who conquers himself is the greatest warrior.

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

To live a single day and hear a good teaching is better than to live a hundred years without knowing such teaching.

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart, give yourself to it.

Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back.

Learning love

Is a funny title however it is amazing how many people have never really considered the subject

Love of nature

Love of life

Loving someone

Different types maybe, different feelings or are they?

Love is the core impulse of our universe, the first impulse

And in your life what love is there, how core is love in your life?

Love of someone maybe

Maybe not

Maybe all alone

If you are in love then nourish and look after it because love taken for granted or untended has a habit of going away

Love of nature is something that will always return your wonder

Beauty is in our eyes and that beauty leads us to a love of nature
.
Thereafter nature is always there for us even in our times of despair or illness

Love of things though that can never last because things have no way to respond to your love

Well not often anyway

So understand the difference between wanting and love

They are so different

Love is unconditional wanting is just selfish

I want

And as they say I want never gets

So let wanting go find love in your heart it's not about logic love grows as we let go, as we open ourselves

And that cannot happen until we let go of our fears

Yes that fear thing again

To be free is to be free of fear

Love cannot exist easily when we are filled with fear
.
So learning love is a not a phony idea
.
Start by loving nature it's all around us all the time
.
Little and large all around us
.
Pay attention open your heart to love, practice on nature
.
Then expand this to life itself
.
You wanted to come into this life
.
We all did, we all signed up for what we are now experiencing
.
So make the most of it
.
Life goes so fast spend it learning about love
.
Full on no holding back
.
Live life in love and your life changes in so many positive ways
.
Oh and you do not need to wait just get on learning about love now today
.
Love comes from inside you not from outside in
.
Really
.
So use your life learning to live it in love and not in judgement and fear

Author unknown

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out to others is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.

To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To live is to risk dying.

To hope is to risk despair.

To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to do nothing.

The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, and is nothing.

They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, live

Chained by their attitudes, they are a slave, they forfeited their freedom.
.
Only the person who risks can be free

Telling tendencies

When you begin to find you have a tendency to think and act spontaneously

You notice that you are developing the ability to enjoy each moment.

You are losing any interest in judging other people.

An evolving loss of interest in judging yourself either

You really don't care to interpret the actions of others any longer

You have no desire to be involved in conflict.

Amazingly you find that you are losing the ability to worry.

Frequently you feel overwhelming episodes of appreciation.

And there are more and more contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.

You find yourself smiling a lot more.

And you notice that you have an increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen

If you find yourself in this space then be warned it continues and grows

This is one major reason why we keep urging everyone to find the truth in their lives

To grow and let go of their fears, to embace life

Simply the outcome is as described above

It's a nice space to be in because whatever comes your way you experience differently

Mmmmm way to go

So sure

Of their rightness

So sure that what they believe is correct

No way to discuss with them let alone cause a change of mind

Fanaticism is not very attractive

And yet it surrounds us, daily we are told of events conducted in their name, usually violent, usually about people being murdered in the name of

Radical Islam is one of the most prevalent and vocal voices

Appeasement did not work with Hitler and it is unlikely to work now

Time for Muslims everywhere to stand up to those who abuse in the name of their religion

Time to make known their disagreement with radicals who preach violence and murder innocent people

Why should Muslims do this?

Because it is in the name of their Prophet that many of these atrocities are being committed

It is in the name of Islam

Those who have other beliefs are also responsible for taking issue with those who use the name of their Gods to commit atrocities

In fact all of us have reason to state our abhorrence of those who kill

Let alone in the name of a God

Time to be clear that appeasement does not work

Time to be clear so that our politicians "get it" too

Killing is not acceptable

Men with guns have too long intimidated

Time to say no to killing of any kind

Society must let the killers know and those who give the orders also that they will be hunted down and tried

Not easy however it starts with all of us voicing our outrage whenever possible and appropriate

Cleanliness

shows that washing with soap and water makes people view unethical activities as more acceptable and reasonable than they would if they had not washed themselves.
.
It was found that when feelings of disgust are instilled in people beforehand, people make decisions which are more ethical than would otherwise be expected.
.
It is speculated that the reason for this is that feeling morally unclean (ie, disgusted) leads to feelings of moral wrongness and thus triggers increased ethical behaviour by instilling a desire to right the wrong.
.
However, as the cleanliness and purification rituals found in many religions suggest, physical cleanliness, too, is linked to moral behaviour.
.
Physical purification, in other words, produces a more relaxed attitude to morality.
.
Perhaps it is no coincidence that Pontius Pilate is portrayed in the Bible as washing his hands of the decision to crucify Jesus.
.
Something to think about for those who feel that purification rituals bring them closer to God.

Confused thoughts

In the meantime though the devil hovers around

The devil Is not generally believed to be real by modern humans

Modern educated humans like to dismiss the devil as old superstition

The devil is in your imagination they say

On the other hand black magic is accepted by many as being very real

Even if they are rather hazy about what it means

Back magic is considered to be very real by the peoples of many countries, particularly those of Africa, South America and Asia

Black magic has more power where people believe in it

The most common use of black magic is to bring bad luck or a curse upon your enemies

So black magic also hovers around on the edge of peoples consciousness

Superstition likewise is found all over the world

Football players crossing themselves as they run onto the pitch

Rituals performed by many before they embark upon certain activities

No thirteenth floor in many American buildings and so the list goes on

So we have this mish mash of ideas and beliefs ranging from the devil to black magic to superstition

And how does it really work?

Where there are men there is both the good and bad use of energy

And yes there is evil where there are men

There is also white magic, which is the use of power or energy for altruistic and compassionate purposes and never for personal gain by the practitioner

Black magic is the use of power or energy for purely selfish ends

Just as there are those who work for destructive ends there are those who work for creative altruistic objectives

Nature supports both destruction and creation,, the dove is no more favoured than the hawk

In other words nature operates through the duality of creation and destruction

Only difference is that love started our evolutionary journey, a loving impulse which will prevail at the end of our Manvantara or active cycle

The use of destruction or the selfish use of energy is unfortunately very prevalent in our selfish times

Less thought about is that black magic is consciously used by many to achieve their selfish ends

Even negative thoughts are evil when they wish harm upon another

What is less known is that those that use black magic ultimately pay a very high price

So in a real sense the devil exists inside all selfish people who think or act in a way that harms or hurts other humans

The greatest achievement of the devil or higher black magicians was to create confusion about this subject

Yes the use of black magic is more common than many people realise today

The fight is real and is inside all of us whenever we have bad thoughts and wish ill on another

This is the journey of humanity to become conscious of evil and to overcome it on both the personal and global levels

The fight is manifestly global when we witness leaders and their followers who knowingly abuse and kill other humans for usually trivial selfish ends

And on a daily local level it is when you think bad thoughts about another person

This is the fight for all of us on a personal and global level to rid ourselves of evil

And you, are you conscious of this?

Do you admit to your own devil, the evil inside you?

The fight is real
.
How is your personal fight going?

Standard illusion

Is where humans believe that money will bring happiness

And if not buying into that idea then most believe that more money will certainly help

Looking more closely at the lives of the rich and famous might help people to see that this is not true either

A certain paranoia sets in as people obtain more money

The fear that someone will take it from them

The fear that they might lose it

And once having insight into their lives we find that they are dealing with exactly the same issues as those without money

Nothing really changed except the shifting of focus goes more to health and non monetary issues

Issues that affect all humans

So it probably is true that money does not bring happiness

Witness the ruined lives of so many lottery winners

It is still our standard illusion that more money will certainly help

How much more is relative to what we have already

The problem with this as anyone who has had a raise knows that sooner than you thought you are back to square one wanting just that bit more

And so our lives flash by with us busily projecting how life would be better if only we had a bit or a lot more

The evidence is all around us that this is not the solution to finding happiness in our lives

Having more does not do much more than offer a temporary respite

Something else needs addressing

If money is not the answer then time to stop thinking about it

Any fixation is not healthy and one that obsesses about money is dangerous.

Why?

Because any one who wants money will be given just that by nature

Wanting

They will experience wanting and then more wanting, it never stops

And this as those who continue wanting money can tell you is not really so pleasant

Let go of standard illusions

Try living for today without thoughts of money

The standard illusion is just that an illusion

Wake to other values and interests

Take time out to learn about things you have never looked at

Companionship and better communication are good areas to investigate

Truth

Is possible to find

There is such a thing

At our level of evolution it will be relative truth rather than absolute truth as most of us are not ready or able to handle absolute truth

Here is a truth our lives are not random

Another is that we create our own lives each and every one of us
.
Our behaviour today determining what comes in future and what we do and think in this life determines what we will be and experience in the next

We come into each life to learn a major lesson

This life therefore is for you to learn something important

Something which will allow your next life to be more profound

More conscious

If you do not learn your lessons then you keep being born into the same or similar life situations until you do

Nature has plenty of patience

Each life is designed to allow us to make choices

Choices which determine what comes next

So if you are down or your life seems unbearably difficult a thought

We have what we need to grow available to us at each and every second of our lives

Not what we might want but what we need

Meaning that however bad things are nature gives us what we need at that moment

Your life might not feel very profound or serious in it's contribution

However this is not for us to judge

Accept that your life is as it is and that you will use it to be the best you can each and every day.

Once you do it will resonate with your heart

The truth is available to all of us

Whatever our lives bring it is better to face this in truth rather than in illusion

Truth is lacking in many areas of our modern world in politics, business, religion and yes personal lives

Maybe you are economical with the truth yourself, know this though the truth is the only way to grow or go forward

Truth needs effort and honesty to find and when you do then you feel it resonating in your heart

Truth is something we can all feel if we open our hearts and let judgements go

Judgement so often gets in the way

Truth is more important than many would have us believe today

There is nothing higher than truth
.
Try testing that thought
.
No religion, nothing is higher than truth
.
Because once you start leading your life in truth then so many modern fads and distractions lose their power over you
.
Indeed much of the breathless importance of modern life and media hype looks very foolish and empty
.
Values of a different kind assume more importance
.
The truth leads us into a calmer clearer world
.
One where we lead our lives by higher values, those of the ageless wisdom if you will

Old people

Were once like you and me
.
As we too will be one day
.
Yes even you

And in former times their knowledge and wisdom were important to the community

In many societies they were honoured and revered

Even in the sixties they were still so in some western societies

Today we try to hide them wherever we can

Get them into homes

Into care

Out of sight where we can
.
No time for them
.
No interest in what they know or have to say
.
Many of them don't get computers or even know basic mobile phone skills
.
And what do they know anyway?
.
Just old stories of this and that of no interest to us today
.
Funny thing as we enter a major downturn or worse
.
Some of those silly old people had ideas not so different to those being talked about by pundits
.
Suddenly it's fashionable to want to know what those old ones knew
.
Saving money
.
Not living beyond your means
.
Knowing how to really cook yourself
.
Who knows how to bake bread, make butter and jams today?
.
How to grow food
.
How to conserve food
.
Which natural alternative remedies are good and not all our allelopathic chemicals?

Should the electric power go what about your life then?

On a more subtle level how many modern people can still their minds?

Sit calmly without music, tv, radio or other mind numbing distractions?

Pity we never bothered to take the time

Just maybe they knew things which would have been of help to us today
.
Never mind maybe each generation has to learn all over again

As a thought for you every human has a story

Every human can teach us something

Most old people appreciate a little attention

Just takes a little time and even if it only teaches you patience then that's no bad thing either

Take a little time for the old people in your life

You too will be old soon enough!

Our stars

The star under which a human entity is born will remain its star for all its rebirths in any one Manvantara or active cycle of lives

One active cycle lasts for 4.3 billion years

We are over half way through our cycle

We are in the fifth sub race of the fifth race

There will be two more sub-races in this race

We then leave this, the fifth race, and enter the sixth race

In total there will be seven races

With numerous sub-races in every major race

That is to say many many thousands of rebirths for all of us

And the star we are talking about?

Not our astrological star

The astrological star is connected with the personality

The personality lasts only for one life while the individuality lasts for every life

The personality dies at the end of each life while the individuality joins and is reunited with our divine or spiritual entity in a conscious manner once each life is over

The real us if you will

The star being spoken of here is our divine or father star known in other lands as our particular Dhyani-Buddha

There are seven rays which radiate from the central or spiritual sun and each of us belongs to one of these rays

Each ray is presided over by a Dhyani-Buddha, which in turn is guided, controlled and over shadowed by the divine wisdom

We form part of our divine star and this is the star towards which we struggle to return to and become a conscious part of

Returning from whence we came if you will

The truth is that all of us have a divine star which is a part of us and which we are part of

An infinitesimal part for sure

Think of being one half of an atom if you want a size

A self reflective consciousness nevertheless

A consciousness that is over many lives able to understand more and more about where we come from and what we really are

So when you next look up at the stars see their relationship to us in a new way

Our stars are part of our heritage they are us

You could even say that we are a stars way of looking at stars

The male

The male gender is in danger, with incalculable consequences for both humans and wildlife, startling scientific research from around the world reveals.

The research – shows that a host of common chemicals is feminising males of every class of vertebrate animals, from fish to mammals, including people.

Backed by some of the world's leading scientists, who say that it "waves a red flag" for humanity and shows that evolution itself is being disrupted.

It also follows hard on the heels of new American research which shows that baby boys born to women exposed to widespread chemicals in pregnancy are born with smaller penises and feminised genitals.

"This research shows that the basic male tool kit is under threat," says Gwynne Lyons, a former government adviser on the health effects of chemicals, who wrote the report.

Wildlife and people have been exposed to more than 100,000 new chemicals in recent years, and the European Commission has admitted that 99 per cent of them are not adequately regulated.

There is not even proper safety information on 85 per cent of them.

Many have been identified as "endocrine disrupters" – or gender-benders – because they interfere with hormones.

These include phthalates, used in food wrapping, cosmetics and baby powders among other applications; flame retardants in furniture and electrical goods; PCBs, a now banned group of substances still widespread in food and the environment; and many pesticides.

The report – published by the charity CHEMTrust and drawing on more than 250 scientific studies from around the world – concentrates mainly on wildlife, identifying effects in species ranging from the polar bears of the Arctic to the eland of the South African plains, and from whales in the depths of the oceans to high-flying falcons and eagles.

It concludes: "Males of species from each of the main classes of vertebrate animals (including bony fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) have been affected by chemicals in the environment.

"Feminisation of the males of numerous vertebrate species is now a widespread occurrence.

All vertebrates have similar sex hormone receptors, which have been conserved in evolution.

Therefore, observations in one species may serve to highlight pollution issues of concern for other vertebrates, including humans."

Fish, it says, are particularly affected by pollutants as they are immersed in them when they swim in contaminated water, taking them in not just in their food but through their gills and skin.

They were among the first to show widespread gender-bending effects.

Half the male fish in British lowland rivers have been found to be developing eggs in their testes; in some stretches all male roaches have been found to be changing sex in this way.

Female hormones – largely from the contraceptive pills which pass unaltered through sewage
treatment – are partly responsible, while more than three-quarters of sewage works have been found also to be discharging demasculinising man-made chemicals.

Feminising effects have now been discovered in a host of freshwater fish species as far away as Japan and Benin, in Africa, and in sea fish in the North Sea, the Mediterranean, Osaka Bay in Japan and Puget Sound on the US west coast.

Research at the University of Florida earlier this year found that 40 per cent of the male cane toads – a species so indestructible that it has become a plague in Australia – had become hermaphrodites in a heavily farmed part of the state, with another 20 per cent undergoing lesser feminisation.

A similar link between farming and sex changes in northern leopard frogs has been revealed by Canadian research, adding to suspicions that pesticides may be to blame.

Male alligators exposed to pesticides in Florida have suffered from lower testosterone and higher oestrogen levels, abnormal testes, smaller penises and reproductive failures.

Male snapping turtles have been found with female characteristics in the same state and around the Great Lakes, where wildlife has been found to be contaminated with more than 400 different chemicals.

Male herring gulls and peregrine falcons have produced the female protein used to make egg yolks, while bald eagles have had difficulty reproducing in areas highly contaminated with chemicals.

Scientists at Cardiff University have found that the brains of male starlings who ate worms contaminated by female hormones at a sewage works in south-west England were subtly changed so that they sang at greater length and with increased virtuosity.

Even more ominously for humanity, mammals have also been found to be widely affected.

Two-thirds of male Sitka black-tailed deer in Alaska have been found to have undescended testes and deformed antler growth, and roughly the same proportion of white-tailed deer in Montana were discovered to have genital abnormalities.

In South Africa, eland have been revealed to have damaged testicles while being contaminated by high levels of gender-bender chemicals, and striped mice from one polluted nature reserved were discovered to be producing no sperm at all.

At the other end of the world, hermaphrodite polar bears – with penises and vaginas – have been discovered and gender-benders have been found to reduce sperm counts and penis lengths in those that remained male. Many of the small, endangered populations of Florida panthers have been found to have abnormal sperm.

Other research has revealed otters from polluted areas with smaller testicles and mink exposed to PCBs with shorter penises. Beluga whales in Canada's St Lawrence estuary and killer whales off its north-west coast – two of the wildlife populations most contaminated by PCBs – are reproducing poorly, as are exposed porpoises, seals and dolphins.

Scientists warned yesterday that the mass of evidence added up to a grave warning for both wildlife and humans. Professor Charles Tyler, an expert on endocrine disrupters at the University of Exeter, says that the evidence in the report "set off alarm bells". Whole wildlife populations could be at risk, he said, because their gene pool would be reduced, making them less able to withstand disease and putting them at risk from hazards such as global warming.

Dr Pete Myers, chief scientist at Environmental Health Sciences, one of the world's foremost authorities on gender-bender chemicals, added: "We have thrown 100, 000 chemicals against a finely balanced hormone system, so it's not surprising that we are seeing some serious results. It is leading to the most rapid pace of evolution in the history of the world.

Professor Lou Gillette of Florida University, one of the most respected academics in the field, warned that the report waved "a large red flag" at humanity. He said: "If we are seeing problems in wildlife, we can be concerned that something similar is happening to a proportion of human males"

Indeed, new research at the University of Rochester in New York state shows that boys born to mothers with raised levels of phthalates were more likely to have smaller penises and undescended testicles.

They also had a shorter distance between their anus and genitalia, a classic sign of feminisation.

And a study at Rotterdam's Erasmus University showed that boys whose mothers had been exposed to PCBs grew up wanting to play with dolls and tea sets rather than with traditionally male toys.

Communities heavily polluted with gender-benders in Canada, Russia and Italy have given birth to twice as many girls than boys, which may offer a clue to the reason for a mysterious shift in sex ratios worldwide. Normally 106 boys are born for every 100 girls, but the ratio is slipping. It is calculated that 250,000 babies who would have been boys have been born as girls instead in the US and Japan alone.

And sperm counts are dropping precipitously. Studies in more than 20 countries have shown that they have dropped from 150 million per millilitre of sperm fluid to 60 million over 50 years. (Hamsters produce nearly three times as much, at 160 million.)

Professor Nil Basu of Michigan University says that this adds up to "pretty compelling evidence for effects in humans".

The Bush Presidency

Can you believe it!

The Bush Presidency is probably the most successful in history

Yup

It's true not the most unsuccessful in history as many people might think but quite possibly the most successful, by their own private agenda that is of course

Never have so many controls been forced and imposed upon the American people or those of so many other countries by any one American administration

Since 9/11 the Bush administration has imposed more far reaching controls on its citizens than under any other previous administration

Controls that take away basic freedoms

Controls that are unlikely to be removed

Controls that lead towards further invasive controls

Controls that have already changed all of our lives

All in the name of fighting terrorism

Funny thing 9/11

When you look at how the twin towers fell, some speed, pretty tidy too

Not many concrete pieces just lots and lots of dust

Molten steel in the basement

No major bone fragments either

That other WTC building number 7, no hit, not much debris, and down it went, smooth fast fall too

Or the alleged plane that hit the Pentagon but left little debris and manged to fit through a small hole in the wall, sadly so few photos from the myriad surveillance cameras around one of the world's most highly protected buildings

That and a lot more curious aspects of 9/11

This is the true legacy of the Bush administration

Oh and a couple of wars and financial meltdown

Thank you President Bush

Have you any idea what you have done?

Really?

Did you and your team truly believe that?

Sad people

And yet

There is always a "and yet"

The current financial and economic situation is beyond the control of any one group

So maybe just maybe all those ideas of control and domination will not turn out as planned

We will see

Just smarter that's all

To have people liking you

Some might be jealous

Some just angry people

Some preoccupied with their own lives and problems

Quite a lot are in this category

But most will be open to how they find you

And how will they find you?

Take a moment to think honestly about how you come across

Look in the mirror, how do you come across?

If this can be worked on then do so

Not just your face but also your body language has an impact upon others

How is yours?

Again if this can be improved then work on it

Now we get to the more important but maybe subtle points

How you feel also influences others

We sense how others feel

So if you are angry then for sure we feel this

More subtly though it is your natural energy profile that we feel

One of enjoying life or is life a burden and struggle?

Most of us do not want other peoples problems

Even when these are unstated and hidden we feel this

So to have others like you more work on this area

How you truly feel about life

Sham enthusiasm comes through as just that, false
.
So time to learn how to feel good about every day even when things are going pear shape
.
How to feel good when people are not so nice to you
.
Yes it can be done and the rewards of feeling good inside are much greater than most other things you can do
.
It's the energy you project
.
And the energy you project comes from inside
.
After a while seeing life through positive eyes makes you become what you truly are deep down inside
.
A very likable human being
.
It's just smarter that's all

Fashion in beliefs

Are quite as prevalent as fashion in clothes and makeup

We just don't pay much attention

Here are a few current ones

That the Moon was once part of the Earth

That Mars once had life on it

That life is a one off event

There is no real purpose to life

That you go to heaven or hell depending on your behaviour in this life

That we descended from apes or monkeys

That we all came out of East Africa

That we all descended from one woman

And there are many others

Of the above only the idea that there was life on Mars is true the others are fashionable beliefs which like most fashions will disappear or be superseded over time

What fashionable beliefs do you subscribe to?

Ever thought about how much they shape what you experience?

Your beliefs influence everything you think about

Just check them out

Do they feel right?

Do they resonate with your heart?

Do they feel true?

If not then have a look

Find the time and courage to let go of those that just don't seem right

Life feels better when we are clearer about what is true for us

For ourselves alone that is others have the right to believe whatever they want to

Those fashionable beliefs shape our lives

Many of them need examination

Better to leave fashion for the fashionistas

When times change

When times become more difficult

Suddenly things that had been obscured become visible

Things like competence

Like the greed of modern government

The relentless encroachment of government into more and more areas that used to be private

Raising taxes without cease

Indirect and direct taxes in most countries

And only as it becomes clear that money is in short supply is there any hint

That maybe just maybe government itself is the problem

Governments delving ever deeper into the lives of their citizens

Not an area left where permits and controls are not mandatory

Not a branch where savings could not be made

Not an area where productivity could not be improved

And yet government is the first to tell its citizens that they must tighten their belts

That they will have to pay more

Yes maybe but let them lead the way

Let government tighten it's belt too

Enough of poor performance by government

Time to note where you can make your concern felt

Then act once an avenue of dissent appears

Government is too big

Too intrusive

Too unaccountable

Too corrupt

Time to find your voice

Dealing with death

Not an easy subject for many

The loss of a loved one or member of your family

Close friends, work colleagues, old school friends maybe

Is going to be your experience

We will all experience the death of people we know

In the western world death is an uncomfortable subject

One we mumble about

Don’t talk about

Seldom thinking clearly about how death can be totally reasonable and appropriate

Death is often the best outcome for those who cannot lead a normal healthy life

Yet we imply that hanging on to life in any shape or form is better than dying

Why?

Confusion about death or is it easier to avoid debate and argument about an emotive subject?

Every person has a personal quantity of life energy and once that is used up then death is inevitable

In many cases death has to be preferable to hanging on in pain or without properly functioning faculties

If we understand that death is fine and is merely a transition to another state then maybe we could be more comfortable with death

Death is only the end of the physical body and personality

The individuality lives on

Every human knows clarity at the moment of death

Despite appearances sometimes to the contrary

There is overwhelming research in this area stating that the gateway to death is warm and attractive

Fear is not an issue for those who have had near death experiences

Most if not all come back into life with a new understanding, less fear and a new feeling of belonging

They have a new found peace of mind as a result of their near death experiences

Death as seen by those who believe in one life only with nothing coming after it must find the idea of death troubling

Big black hole

Finita la musica, gone finished

For these people indeed death is a tough idea the older they get

An idea though not supported by evidence about the subject

So for those who believe death is the end of everything please look further

For those who think that we have one life then go to heaven or hell depending on our performance in life also think for a second

Heaven for ever and ever?

How long is ever and ever?

A million years, a billion?

And what is heaven?

Sitting around with people who you could not stand in life for more than a few hours or days at the most, every day for a billion years?

Hell for ever and ever, no redemption possible for a billion or a trillion years

No too childish

Too mindless

Any God worthy of the name must hold out something a bit smarter than these childish ideas

If not for us then for herself

These simplistic ideas of the hereafter might have been fine for earlier and superstitious times

Maybe not even then because all major religions had teachings for the initiates and inner groups that taught karma and reincarnation

Death under these teachings is merely a transition to rest and assimilate what we have learnt in this life

So the subject of death is useful to get clear about because it can remove the psychological fears about the subject

If we are comfortable with death for ourselves then for certain we can feel more comfortable about the death of others

Death is part of human experience

Death is something we will all experience

Death is something our family and friends will experience

It is common to all of us

Smarter to understand what it is and how it works

And yes death is fine once we understand what it is

Water from Air

Water, Water, everywhere; nor any drop to drink.

The plight of the Ancient Mariner is about to be alleviated thanks to a firm of eco-inventors from Canada who claim to have found the solution to the world's worsening water shortages by drawing the liquid of life from an unlimited and untapped source - the air.
.
The company, Element Four, has developed a machine that it hopes will become the first mainstream household appliance to have been invented since the microwave.
.
Their creation, the WaterMill, uses the electricity of about three light bulbs to condense moisture from the air and purify it into clean drinking water.
.
The machine went on display this weekend in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, hosted by Wired magazine at its annual showcase of the latest gizmos its editors believe could change the world.
.
From the outside, the mill looks like a giant golf ball that has been chopped in half: it is about 3ft in diameter, made of white plastic, and is attached to the wall.It works by drawing air through filters to remove dust and particles, then cooling it to just below the temperature at which dew forms.
.
The condensed water is passed through a self-sterilising chamber that uses microbe-busting UV light to eradicate any possibility of Legionnaires' disease or other infections.
.
Finally, it is filtered and passed through a pipe to the owner's fridge or kitchen tap.
.
The obvious question to the proposition that household water demands can be met by drawing it from the air is: are you crazy?
.
To which the machine's inventor and Element Four's founder, Jonathan Ritchey, replies: 'Just wait and see.
.
The demand for water is off the chart.
.
People are looking for freedom from water distribution systems that are shaky and increasingly unreliable.'
.
For the environmentally conscious consumer, the WaterMill has an obvious appeal.
.
Bottled water is an ecological catastrophe.
.
In the US alone, about 30bn litres of bottled water are consumed every year at a cost of about $11bn (£7.4bn).
.
According to the Earth Policy Institute, about 1.5m barrels of oil - enough to power 100,000 cars for a year - is used just to make the plastic.
.
The process also uses twice as much water as fits inside the container, not to mention the 30m bottles that go into landfills every day in the US.
.
But the mill also has downsides, not least its $1,200 cost when it goes on sale in America, the UK, Italy, Australia and Japan in the spring. In these credit crunch times that might dissuade many potential buyers, though Ritchey points out that at $0.3 per litre, it is much cheaper than bottled water and would pay for itself in a couple of years.
.
There is also the awkward fact that although there is eight times more atmospheric water than in all the rivers of the world combined, it is unevenly distributed.
.
Those areas of the US that are most desperate for more water - such as the arid south-west where ground water levels are already dramatically depleted - have the lowest levels of moisture in the air.
.
The mill ceases to be effective below about 30 per cent relative humidity levels, which are common later in the day in states such as Arizona.
.
To combat that problem, the machine has an intelligent computer built into it that increases its output at dawn when humidity is highest, and reduces it from mid-afternoon when a blazing sun dries the air.

Slippery slope

In Malaysia recently
.
Abdul Shukor Husim, the Muslim council's chairman, said: "We are of the view that yoga, which originates in Hinduism, combines a physical exercise, religious elements, chanting and worshipping for the purpose of achieving inner peace and ultimately to be at one with god.
.
For us, yoga destroys a Muslim's faith.
.
There are other ways to get exercise.
.
You can go cycling, swimming and eat less fatty food."
.
The ruling comes after the council said young Muslim women who wore trousers risked becoming sexually active or "turning" to lesbianism.
.
Gay sex is outlawed in Malaysia
.
The government recently had to back away from a proposal to restrict women travelling abroad alone, after derision from women's activists across the country.
.
But it has banned the use of the word Allah by other religions.
.
An influential Christian group claimed Bibles were also being seized at border entry points.
.
Of Malaysia's non-Muslim population, 25% are ethnic Chinese and 8% are ethnic Indian, mainly Hindu.
.
The council's ruling does not apply to them and is not legally binding.
.
But most of the country's Muslims heed the edicts out of deference.
.
The fatwa was applied based on the incorrect conclusion that terms like asanas used in Yoga are "Hindu" in nature
.
Fact yoga did not originate in Hinduism
.
Yoga evolved long before Hinduism in humanities distant past as a means of controlling the mind and finding peace of mind
.
Several seals discovered at Indus Valley Civilization (c. 3300–1700 BC) sites depict figures in a yoga- or meditation-like posture, "a form of ritual discipline, suggesting a precursor of yoga" that point to Harappan devotion to "ritual discipline and concentration",
.
The main textual sources for the evolving concept of Yoga are the middle Upanishads (ca. 400 BCE), the Mahabharata (5th c. BCE) including the Bhagavad Gita (ca. 200 BCE), and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali 300 BCE-200 BCE
.
But this factual origin of yoga is not the point of this blog intolerance and ignorance are
.
In over one thousand three hundred and ninety eight years (610Ad is the generally agreed start of Islam) not one Muslim leader anywhere has ever implied or said that there is anything dangerous to Muslims in the practice of yoga
.
Nor has any Muslim leader ever created any relational connection to Hinduism in the practice of yoga
.
Yet again we see rules and regulations being introduced that have nothing to do with the stated purpose but a lot to do with ignorance and control for the sake of control

Intolerance is rising in many societies
.
In Malaysia this is noticeably true and the imposition of these rules on Malaysian Muslims does little to help race relations or better understanding between the different peoples of that country
.
Slippery slope indeed
