Just slowly remorselessly turn up the heat and the frog just sits there

So the people of Britain watch as their remaining liberties are removed one by one

Years ago people talked darkly about 1984 and how it might come to pass

Well it has

And more so

A report from the US Internet security company Cryptohippie puts the UK at number six in the list of the world's most repressive regimes

This in terms of the electronic surveillance of its citizens.

The report is from 'The Electronic Police State, 2010 National Rankings

And states the following

The UK is aggressively building the world of 1984 in the name of stopping 'anti-social' activities.

Their populace seems unable or unwilling to restrain the government

The report defines an electronic police state as being characterised by -

State use of electronic technologies to record, organize, search and distribute forensic evidence against its citizens
.
And if that is not enough the British are being taxed ever more heavily to pay for their very own police state 
.
While also being told about unprecedented Government sleaze, waste and misuse of public funds
.
On top of literally thousands of unelected bodies who advise said government on every subject conceivable and unconceivable 
.
Again at great expense to the taxpayer financially and psychologically
.
And what is the media doing in all this?

Just more shock, horror and crisis stories
