A mind worried

Is a mind not at peace

And a mind not at peace is not a comfortable experience for the owner of that mind

When you are worrying you are thinking

When you are thinking you are not in this moment now

And when you are not in this moment now you are out of reality

Because this moment now is the only reality

Looking backwards is out of reality as it is a construction of your mind and your memory

Looking forward is also a construction, a construction of your mind again

Better stay in this moment now

Now on with worry

All modern humans suffer from worry to a greater or lesser extent

The trick is to make it lesser rather than more

Take any worry and it is your mind that leads you into endless thoughts about it

Stop the mind and the mind has a problem to keep you worrying

Next time you start worrying do something

Go for a run, walk the dog, talk on the phone, iron a shirt anything that takes your mind off the problem

Better still do something where you really have to concentrate because then mind has no chance to keep you worrying

By the time you stop doing whatever action you have chosen the pressure will have dissipated

If the worry comes up again take another action immediately

Talk to whoever it is who is worrying you

Compromise

Make a deal

Apologise

Whatever you need to do it

Even if it does not fully resolve the situation it can reduce worry

A mind worried is not nice to live with

Stop the mind, stop the worrying

See life with pleasure you only have this day once

On a good day make the most of it you feel good about it

On a bad day fill it with action it will pass quicker

Test for Doctors

A test of a disease presents a rate of 5% false positives
.
The disease strikes 1/1,000 of the population
..
People are tested at random, regardless of whether they are suspected of having the disease or not
.
A Patent's test is positive
.
What is the probability of the patient being stricken with the disease?
.
Most doctors answered 95% simply taking into account the fact that the test has a 95% accuracy rate
.
The answer is the conditional probability that the patient is sick and the tests show it close to 2%
.
Less than one in five doctors got this right
.
An embarrassing result for the medical profession!
.
Think of the number of times you will be given a medication that carries damaging side effects for a given disease you were told you had, when you may only have a 2% probability of being infected with it!
.
The above was taken from Deborah Bennett's 'Randomness'

Ask questions of your doctor

There are good, bad and indifferent doctors

As there are used car salesmen or engineers

Most doctors today are under pressure

Most proscribe 'something' to every patient

Why?

Because patients expect 'something'

And pills or potions are 'something'

So ask questions when you do not understand

Or when you feel uneasy

It's your life or that of your child maybe

Your health is the most important thing you have, you personally that is

Take responsibility for your own life and health

When in doubt get a second opinion

Ask questions go online

If your Doctor does not like answering questions then consider changing doctors

If he treats you like a grade A moron then consider changing doctors

Your health is too important to be looked after by anyone other than yourself

Inform yourself

Take responsibility for your own health

The Very Large Telescope

The world's most advanced visible-light astronomical observatory
.
Did you know?
.
The skies over the ESO sites in Chile are so dark that on a clear moonless night it is possible to see your shadow cast by the light of the Milky Way alone.
.
The Very Large Telescope array (VLT) is the flagship facility for European ground-based astronomy at the beginning of the third Millennium.
.
It is the world's most advanced optical instrument, consisting of four Unit Telescopes with main mirrors of 8.2m diameter and four movable 1.8m diameter Auxiliary Telescopes.
.
The telescopes can work together, in groups of two or three, to form a giant 'interferometer', the ESO Very Large Telescope Interferometer, allowing astronomers to see details up to 25 times finer than with the individual telescopes.
.
The light beams are combined in the VLTI using a complex system of mirrors in underground tunnels where the light paths must be kept equal to distances less than 1/1000 mm over a hundred metres.
.
With this kind of precision the VLTI can reconstruct images with an angular resolution of milliarcseconds, equivalent to distinguishing the two headlights of a car at the distance of the Moon.
.
The 8.2m diameter Unit Telescopes can also be used individually.
.
With one such telescope, images of celestial objects as faint as magnitude 30 can be obtained in a one-hour exposure.
.
This corresponds to seeing objects that are four billion (four thousand million) times fainter than what can be seen with the unaided eye.
.
The large telescopes are named Antu, Kueyen, Melipal and Yepuni.
.
The VLT instrumentation programme is the most ambitious programme ever conceived for a single observatory. It includes large-field imagers, adaptive optics corrected cameras and spectrographs, as well as high-resolution and multi-object spectrographs and covers a broad spectral region, from deep ultraviolet (300 nm) to mid-infrared (24 µm) wavelengths.
.
The 8.2m diameter telescopes are housed in compact, thermally controlled buildings, which rotate synchronously with the telescopes.
.
This design minimises any adverse effects on the observing conditions, for instance from air turbulence in the telescope tube, which might otherwise occur due to variations in the temperature and wind flow.
.
The first of the Unit Telescopes, 'Antu', went into routine scientific operations on 1 April 1999. Today, all four Unit Telescopes and all four Auxiliary Telescopes are operational.
.
The VLT has made an undisputed impact on observational astronomy.
.
It is the most productive individual ground-based facility, and results from the VLT have led to the publication of an average of more than one peer-reviewed scientific paper per day.
.
VLT contributes greatly to making ESO the most productive ground-based observatory in the world.
.
The VLT has stimulated a new age of discoveries, with several notable scientific firsts, including the first image of an extrasolar planet (eso0842), tracking individual stars moving around the supermassive black hole at the centre of the Milky Way (eso0846), and observing the afterglow of the furthest known Gamma-Ray Burst.
.
Although the four 8.2-metre Unit Telescopes can be combined in the VLTI, they are mostly used for individual observations and are only available for interferometric observations for a limited number of nights every year.
.
But four smaller, dedicated Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs) are available to allow the VLTI to operate every night.
.
The ATs are mounted on tracks and can be moved between precisely defined observing positions from where the beams of collected light are combined in the VLTI.
.
The ATs are very unusual telescopes, as they are self-contained in their ultra-compact protective domes, and travel with their own electronics, ventilation, hydraulics and cooling systems.
.
Each AT has a transporter that lifts the telescope and moves it from one position to the other.

Liu Xiaobo

Won this years Nobel Peace prize thereby pissing off an angry Chinese Government
.
Shame that the Chinese Government has little understanding of the importance of free speech for their own well being as well as that of their citizens
.
Sadly like many other Governments they are terrified of any dissent
.
Liu Xiaobo's bravery is in stark contrast to that of many Governments around the World who do not have his courage to say what they feel about China's Human Rights record
.
Liu's last words before prison showed an unusual wisdom and great personal bravery
.
In December 2009 Liu Xiaobo was sentenced to 11 years in jail.
.
Here are extracts from the translation of a "final statement" he wrote two days before his incarceration began.
.
"I have no enemies, and no hatred....
.
I firmly believe that China's political progress will never stop
.
and I'm full of optimistic expectations of freedom coming to China in the future
.
because no force can block the human desire for freedom.
.
China will eventually become a country of the rule of law in which Human Rights are supreme
.
...I look forward to my country being a land of free expression,
.
where all citizens' speeches are treated the same; here,
.
different values, ideas, beliefs, political views...
.
here compete with each other and coexist peacefully;
.
here, majority and minority opinions will be given equal guarantees,
.
in particular, political views different from those in power will be fully respected and protected;
.
here, all political views will be spread in the sunlight for the people to choose;
.
all citizens will be able to express their political views without fear,
.
and will never be politically persecuted for voicing dissent;
.
I hope to be the last victim of China's endless literary inquisition,
.
and that after this no one else will ever be jailed for their speech.
.
... Freedom of expression is the basis of Human Rights, the source of humanity and the mother of truth.
.
To block freedom of speech is to trample on Human Rights, to strangle humanity and to suppress the truth."

Daddy

What do you do to make a living?

Well I work for a Public Relations company

What does that mean

It means that we work for people who want us to change things

Things they do not want people to understand

Why would they want that?

Well often companies do things that are not so nice so they get us to make them look better

What kind of things?

Well for example many major food companies do not want people to know how healthy their food products are

So what did they do?

They hired us to help persuade European Law makers that they should not accept a proposal that would have made it easy for Mummy to understand the quality of the food she buys

Isn't that bad?

Yes

So why do they do that?

Don't they have children?

Yes

But don't they care for their children?

No they only care about money

Do you like doing this job?

No

But then why do you do it?

So that I can make money to look after you and mummy

But then how does mummy know what she is buying?

She can't

So daddy why do you do this then?

Because if I do not do this then someone else will

Schumann Resonance

.
.
The Schumann resonances are a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth's electromagnetic field spectrum.
.
Schumann resonances are global electromagnetic resonances, excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth's surface and the ionosphere.
.
There is some scientific proof of the Earth currently passing through the Photon Belt and the slowing of the Earths rotation.
.
At the same time there is an increase in the resonant frequency of the Earth or Schumann resonance.
.
When the Earth stops its rotation and the resonance frequency reaches 13 cycles we will be at a zero point magnetic field.
.
The Earth will be stopped, and in 2 or 3 days it will start turning again in the opposite direction.
.
This will produce a reversal in the magnetic fields around the earth and so forth
.
While earth's "pulse" rate is rising, her magnetic field strength, on the other hand, is declining.
.
According to Professor Bannerjee of the University of New Mexico, the field has lost up to half its intensity in the last 4,000 years.
.
And because a forerunner of magnetic polar reversals is this field strength, Prof. Bannerjee believes that another reversal is due.
.
Earth's geological record indicates that magnetic reversals also mark previous shifts in history.
.
And, within the enormous time scale represented, there were quite a few of them.
.
Time will appear to speed up as we approach Zero Point.
.
A 24 hour day will seem to about 16 hours or less.
.
The Schumann Resonance has been 7.8 cycles for thousands of years, but has been rising since 1980.
.
It is at about 12 cycles at present.
.
It stops at 13 cycles.
.
Zero point or the 'shift of the ages' has been predicted by ancient peoples for thousands of years.
.
There have been many shifts including the one that always occurs every 13,000 years at each half of the 26,000 year, procession of the equinox.
.
Then there are the Maya 2012 predictions
.
End of time as we know it they say
.
All change in 2012, maybe
.
Trouble is we do not know what goes down when that happens
.
Guess we might be going to find out

Vactruth

.
Is a newsletter that helps parents find information about the advisability of having their baby vaccinated

In some countries today you have to have your child vaccinated under penalty of law

In others there is extreme pressure to make the parents feel irresponsible if they do not go along with government guidelines for child vaccinations

Whatever your situation it is advisable to be aware of the dangers caused by vaccinations for various groups in society, if not for yourself then for others you know

Essentially vaccinations are a relatively new profit group for big pharma

Predictably numerous new vaccinations are now being created to treat or allegedly protect against an increasing range of indications

For years now we have been told that vaccines are good for us, that vaccines eradicate illness and that vaccines will save us from killer diseases.

What we are not told is that the doctors and Governments telling us this are often linked to the drug companies who are manufacturing the vaccines that they promote and many are making thousands of pounds/dollars profit from vaccinating our children.
.
Let us begin at the bottom and start with the GP.
.
In the UK every time a vaccine is given to us by our trusted GP they are paid.
.
The British Medical Journal published an article GPs make deals with local NHS to vaccinate children against swine flu explaining how that every single child who is vaccinated with the H1N1 in the UK earned GP £5.25.
.
In Ireland the GP’s are paid five times this amount, for the seasonal flu shot.
.
The article Irish Times – Irish GP’s paid five times UK rate for flu vaccine report that in Ireland a GP will earn a staggering €38.95 per vaccine, making vaccines a very lucrative business indeed.
.
As far back as 2002, GP’s were so keen to get their hands on this extra money that they were striking off their lists the children who had not had the MMR because if they (the GP’s ) did not meet the Government target rate of 90% immunization, they would not earn their £2865 vaccination bonus Daily Telegraph – Children without MMR jab struck off GP’s list reports tells the full story.
.
And to your own view of vaccinations?
.
Imagine you have a child or children and are wondering what to do, how about these simple questions
.
Question: True science is about observation and having the ability of measuring observations: seen or unseen.
.
Please answer (True or False) to the answers that you believe a pediatrician carries out at a normal well-baby visit.

1. A nerve function test

2. An immune dysfunction test

3. A neurological integrity

4. An immune response (titers – pronounced “TIE-ters”)

5. All of the above
.
Answers
.
Number one is false. A nerve function test would be conducted by a specialist like a nerve surgeon.
.
Number two is false. An immune dysfunction or dysregulation would likely be diagnosed by a specialist called an immunologist
.
Number three is false. Pediatricians will do a basic neurological integrity test before a vaccine, but rarely after.
.
Some children have had reactions to up to 30 days after a vaccination.
.
Number four is, for all intensive purposes, false. In most cases, the only purpose a titers test is performed it is for a medical exemption to a vaccine.
.
Number five is obviously false as well. The pediatrician will not conduct these tests before and after vaccinations.
.
The lesson? Just because someone calls a medical procedure (which vaccinations are) safe, doesn’t make it so.
.
They can call anything safe if they choose not to measure adverse outcomes
.
So here’s the secret most pediatricians keep.
.
At the well-baby visit, parents are given a vaccine information sheet.
.
This information sheet is not the same as a vaccine package insert!!!
.
There is a huge difference!
.
If you were to look at the package insert for the MMR vaccine, there are certain conditions that may harm a child if they were to be vaccinated with this vaccine and therefore the child
should not be vaccinated.
.
We have to give credit to Merck here, as they do list many circumstances in which it would be unwise for a child to be vaccinated.
.
Click on the link below and look under the heading
.
Contraindications which is a fancy word for "inadvisable" for the situation.

http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/m/mmr_ii/mmr_ii_pi.pdf

Let's say you are bringing your child in for their MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella) vaccine.
.
How do you as a parent know if your child should be given the vaccination?
.
What if your child has an acquired or genetic immune dysfunction?
.
How would you or your pediatrician know, unless your child has been tested?
.
The simple answer is you don't
.
Can we learn anything here?
.
Well yes we can.
.
While every condition known to man cannot be tested for, we do know that some of the most basic tests are not performed before and after vaccinations.
.
If your pediatrician observed an adverse condition mentioned in the Merck vaccine insert, they would probably be less inclined to give your child vaccines.
.
What you don’t know can hurt your child
.
Our purpose is to provide you with the information and tools which enables you to ask informed questions and help keep your baby safe.
.
It's your child.
.
It's your choice to vaccinate your child.
.
We believe informed choices are the best choice.

One more step

A few more years

Just a little more effort

A few more discoveries and we will be there

One or two more improvements

Sacrifices now to reach heaven in the future.

It's in religion too.

You have to sacrifice now for heaven later.

You have to suppress your desires now for rewards in the future

Whoops!

The dream is coming unstuck

The silly dream that we can create heaven on earth through technology and more and more consumption

Through ever more labour saving devices

Through ever more trade

Ever more striving

Then we will reach paradise

Onward and ever upward we march

And yet and yet

Just about now we are noticing that the effort to maintain what we have been building is costing us ever more

In our current financial situation we are running not just to stand still but to stop ourselves from drowning

Drowning in debt and disappearing dreams

More television channels do not bring us anything

More labour saving devices do not do it

Life expectancies aren't going up any more.

New diseases aren't being conquered anymore.

In fact new ones are coming into being.

Old ones are coming back.

Endlessly expanding government and controls on everything is not the answer

Religion as presented today is a sorry spectacle of unappealing ritual and confusion

Divisive as ever with silly messages and endless stories of corruption

Human life isn't improving

The Emperor is naked

There is no dream

The dream is gone

The music is grinding to a halt

And yet and yet

Before any seismic shift there is always uncertainly

Resistance to change

Anger and shouting from those trying to protect the status quo

Maybe it was ever thus, the passing of one civilisation to another

From one state of mind to another

The new barely discernible

The idea of restraining growth

From ever more consumption to just enough for our needs

Do we really need that everyone has a car?

Does everyone need a lawnmower, would not one or two per street do?

And power tools, and so on

Why should so many have no jobs when we spend a fortune shipping in food?

Why not grow more locally?

Why not create more jobs locally?

Produce products designed to last

Work less

Why should work be admirable there are plenty of other things to do with life?

Animals do not rush about as we do, they rest, they amuse themselves

And with our brains it is not hard to see how many other things we can productively do with our time and energy

And those who have too much money let them give

For if they do not then it will be taken from them

Not a threat just read history

Real history that is, the truth

These changes are just a perception away

Your perception and mine that is

For a start the 'Emperor'' of endless growth and consumption' is certainly naked

Next we can and will create a more desirable model

A more human and interesting understanding of why we are here

One more step

Speak to your father

The secret to happiness - speak to your father
.
Children who regularly talk to their fathers are happier than those who do not, according to new research.
.
Young people who said they talked seriously to their dads "most days" gave themselves an 87 per cent score on a happiness scale compared with 79 per cent for those who said they hardly ever spoke to their fathers in this way.
.
The findings, from an analysis of research from the British Household Panel survey into 1,200 young people in Britain aged between 11 and 15, were released by the Children's Society to coincide with Father's Day.
.
Nearly half of young people - 46 per cent - said they "hardly ever" spoke to their fathers about important topics compared with 28 per cent who hardly ever spoke to their mothers about the things that matter most.
.
Only 13 per cent confided in their father "most days", according to the analysis.
.
The study, commissioned by the Children's Society and undertaken by the University of York, showed that young people talk less to their fathers about important issues as they get older.
.
The data showed 42 per cent of 11-year-olds did so more than once a week compared with 16% of 15-year-olds.
.
The analysis suggested there has been little change over the years with the same proportion - 30 per cent - of young people talking to their fathers about something that mattered to them more than once a week in 2007-08 as in 2002-03.
.
The charity said the findings were "highly significant" as academic research has shown that a child's well-being later in life depends on their teenage relationship with their father as well as with their mother.
.
It launched a Fatherhood Commission with children, experts and the public invited to submit evidence about the barriers to fathers' involvement with their children.
.
Bob Reitemeier, chief executive of the Children's Society, said:

This research shows that young people's happiness is closely linked to how often they speak to their fathers about things that matter.
.
Yet all too often these days, children are becoming alienated or live apart from their fathers.
.
That is why the Children's Society is today calling on children, experts and the general public to submit evidence to our new Fatherhood Review.
.
It will be investigating the extent to which fathers are involved in the everyday aspects of their children's lives and in the autumn we will publish recommendations on how the obstacles to better father-child relationships might be overcome.

Richard Alleyne

Having a good relationship with your father throughout life is also helpful in so many ways

Trouble is the habit is set often before we leave home

A habit where we do not talk much to each other

Where we have few points of contact

Where we know little about each other or each other's life

If this is your situation then consider having a good contact and relationship

Consider building it from now on

Make the effort and see how it goes

If there is zero to communicate so be it

You will feel better for having made the effort

After all once your father has died it is too late

Too late to learn about your history and his side of the family

This would be a shame as our children are always intrigued about where they came from

If you are lucky your father can be a source of support and encouragment

A wiser head maybe

Fathers come in all shapes and sizes................. just like us come to think of it
