Some comments on meditation

There are many sources on the net and elsewhere that tell you the positive psychological and physical effects from meditation.
.
Some are real some not so swift
.
If you use Google put in the word 'meditation' and up they come
.
What they do not tell you is some of the feelings you can experience
.
So here are some of them
.
The top of your head may become numb or experience a tingling sensation.
.
Sometimes your skin feels really smooth and sensitive with a pleasurable feeling
.
When in a sitting posture you can feel like you are being straightened, pulled up almost
.
You may feel sensations in your spine a tingling.
.
Sometimes it feels as if energy is being pushed from your coccyx up towards and out of your head.
.
When you focus on a specific area of your body, you may feel a vibration or tingling in that area.
.
Often your breathing cycle may become slower and deeper, then longer, and may stop without your feeling any discomfort
.
The body feels like it is, expanding
.
Quite often you may not come back after a meditation session.
.
You can find it difficult to focus on normal things, nor have any interest in them
.
You may experience an intense state of well being
.
A feeling of no danger, no menace absolute safety
.
Your energy levels feel much higher.
.
The state between sleeping and fully awake consciousness narrows
.
Your need for sleep may change from your normal patterns
.
As might your feelings about food and drink.
.
Unusual sounds can occur that are not physical
.
There are many others and these experiences are not good or bad nor do they occur all the time
.
Meditation is intensely personal and we all experience it differently at different times

Most important is that we understand that mediation and the control of our minds is the single most difficult thing we can do in life

This is what all the good books are on about the fight within, the fight with ourselves

Maybe this is why so many bullshit about how easy it is, because they want to appear special or better than others

Many people tell silly stories about meditation

Take these stories with a pinch of salt

Just take on board the idea that controlling your mind is the true gateway to other states

States which are the true way forward for mankind,

This is why meditation is disparaged by those who cannot do it themselves

Those who fear loss of control by going into such a state

Many many people are frightened of losing control and so put down what they cannot do or understand themselves

Something they fear is something they cannot know for themselves

Cannot comment upon except to put it down in negative terms, because they have no knowledge of what it really is or is not

Governments hate the idea that people can go to places where they cannot be controlled

Control of our minds allows us to know a peace not possible to those who cannot

Meditation requires daily practice

Requires discipline and willpower

No wonder so few really get there

For your knowledge there are 52 levels of meditation

If you master one in this life you are doing well
