Helping

Helping someone gives the highest satisfaction.

There are many things that give pleasure and satisfaction.

None gives more than helping someone.

Do not believe what we say?

Try for yourself.

Helping someone is going out of "me" into "we".

It is the voluntary movement towards altruism.

Which is why it gives such satisfaction.

Conversley this is why selfish people are often so miserable.

There is no satisfaction from just taking and manipulating.

Help someone today!

Mmmmm - 21

'Life is not cruel.

There is no injustice in it.

In the light of reincarnation, the sufferings we considered unjust lose the sting of their supposed injustice and become easy to endure.

We come to look on them as blessings because means of liberation and our chief incentives to growth.

Experience and pain are our teachers.

We are reminded constantly by the difficulties we have to overcome of the majestic mercy of the law. . . .

Tired

We all get tired.

Tired is as big a part of life as not being tired.

How good are you at being tired?

Do you get irritable?

Do you snap?

Do you winge?

Do you?

Take time to learn how to perform well when you are tired.

It's possibly more important over the length of our lives than most other things we might learn.

Learn to perform well while tired.

It just might save you one day.

Learn your tired.

But

Do not use this word except maybe in extremis!

But says it does not matter what you are saying I have made up my mind.

I am not going to listen.

Learn to use the little word "and" instead it's harder however it leaves open possibilities.

And also encourages us to think about what is being said.

But just shuts things down.

But is also a lazy habit

Don't say but!

Colors

What is your favorite color?

Do you even notice?

Our feelings about color change with our growing.

Where are you?

We are not talking about the colors that flatter you.

What speaks to you?

Green or blue say nice things about you.

Other colors can be less true.

What is color to you?

i pod

Let´s us go into our own private world.

Our choice.

Our control.

And for little ones?

What are you feeding them?

Remember small eardrums are sensitve so do not let them ruin their eardrums through inattention on your part.

What they hear might not be what you think they do, check them out ask them.

Protect your little ones.

Little children

Little children give energy to the world.

Many adults take energy out.

Many adults are energy vampires, for want of a better description.

Observe little children and how they spray laughter and energy around.

Little children are open.

Many adults are closed.

Little children smile a lot.

Many adults scowl a lot.

Learn from little children.

Little children

Little children give energy to the world.

Many adults take energy out.

Observe how little children spray laughter and energy around.

Many adults are energy vampires, for want of a better description.

Little children are open.

Many adults are closed.

Little children smile a lot.

Many adults frown a lot.

Learn from little children.

The more you put positive energy out the more positive energy comes back.

Bossy people

Wants the world to be as she wants it to be.

Tries to control everything so that this can be so.

Small problem.

This aggressive life approach might work for a while.

However at some point nature will say enough.

So if you are bossy better to ease up before nature forces your hand.

Apart from which few of us like bossy people.

Beauty

Say beauty, yes say this word.

In fact many, many times each day.

Why?

Because it alters our orientation.

It leads us to see beauty.

So say beauty, particularly when depressed.

Say beauty and see beauty.

Violent outbursts

Many of us have had violent outbursts directed at us.

Many have had violent outbursts ourselves.

Those situations where a little argument turned into a raging outburst, which escalated into a destructive violence going from bad to worse.

Right to the brink in fact

No possibility of compromise.

Only time brings this violence to an end.

Or to the brink of finality.

What is going on?

Your control went and all the real or imagined frustrations came gushing out.

Once started there is no stopping and anything said by the other party just provokes increasing fury until exhaustion sets in.

What to do?

If it is another party then, stall for time, break off the communication if you can.

If it is you then once it has passed time to look at yourself and understand that there is work to be done.

The work is to try to understand what triggered the violence.

Usually this needs help because the cause will not usually be visible to you.

Seek help.

Karma - 2

'[The law of karma] predestines nothing and no one.

It exists from and in Eternity, truly, for it is ETERNITY itself; and as such, since no act can be co-equal with eternity, it cannot be said to act, for it is ACTION itself.

It is not the Wave which drowns a man, but the personal action of the wretch, who goes deliberately and places himself under the impersonal action of the laws that govern the Ocean's motion.

Karma creates nothing, nor does it design.

It is man who plans and creates causes, and Karmic law adjusts the effects; which adjustment is not an act, but universal harmony, tending ever to resume its original position, like a bough, which, bent down too forcibly, rebounds with corresponding vigour.

If it happen to dislocate the arm that tried to bend it out of its natural position, shall we say that it is the bough which broke our arm, or that our own folly has brought us to grief ?

KARMA is an Absolute and Eternal law in the World of manifestation; . . . for Karma is one with the Unknowable, of which it is an aspect in its effects in the phenomenal world.' (SD 2:303-6)

Never

Never say never because you are just setting limitations on possibilities.

Even if things look hopeless there is still no reason to say never.

Life can turn in most unexpected ways and history is full of remarkable stories where the unexpected has occurred.

Never let the idea never close down your options.

Stay alert to possibilities because if you let never become your reality then you probably will miss a possibility.

Don't let never become your experience!

Defining

We are defined as much by what we choose not to do as by what we choose to do.

Think about that.

It's a very powerful way of looking at yourself.

What do you choose not to do?

Do you have the courage to live by ethical rules?

Do you slip and slide?

Choose not to do those things that should not be done.

Choose to do only those things that should be done.

Look at yourself every day not at others.

Define yourself by creating the person you want to be.

Level of complexity

We are moving to a new level of complexity

As with all such shifts this is a time of uncertainty and confusion.

A time where half the population want change.

Where half do not.

For better or worse the momentum will not be stopped.

Time to adjust.

Learn to welcome change.

Throw out old ideas, out worn thoughts.

Let in new ideas.

Allow yourself to spend time considering what is good and what is bad for you.

Take the good, resist the bad.

Let the rest flow around you.

Sugar and ever more sugar

When our sugar levels go down so do we.

Our humour, our patience, our balance, out of the window they go.

Unfortunately eating more sugar creates more problems than it solves.

We just want more.

Become conscious of how much you ingest and wean yourself off it.

Consciously let go of sugar.

Oh! and don't bother with so called sugar substitutes most of them will do even more harm than sugar.

Once off sugar as an addiction our bodies find and sustain their natural levels.

Feeling healthy is a great experience, try it.

God

For some there is no God.

For some there is a God.

For some there are Gods.

For some there is nothing, just us all alone in a vast universe.

Have you thought about this?

Probably not, probably you just accepted whatever you were told.

Probably just went along with whatever your parents did.

As a matter of interest there was a time when all the major religions gave the same teachings.

There was no division, just one message, our world had one understanding.

Can we seriously believe today that a just and loving God would ever support the current divisions and political bickering between religions?

So in your heart let go of the idea that any one religion is better than another and understand that there is as the Buddhists say just the wisdom of nature.

There is no personal God.

Just you and whatever you believe.

Mmmmm - 19

'[T]he religion which alone will fitly correspond to our innate religious nature will be a universal system of human brotherhood based on the knowledge that we are essentially divine; a system that will warm our hearts with the knowledge that there is nothing outside ourselves that can save or damn us; that it is we ourselves who alone must and can work out our own salvation.' (WoH 82-4, 79)

Alone

Alone.
Is what we are.
We may surround ourselves with people.
We may hang onto our partners.
We may distract ourselves in a million ways.
Accept alone and take the next step, which is to get to know yourself.
Few of us spend time with ourselves.
Do it, learn about your needs.
Learn your deceptions.
Learn your games.
See your illusions.
Listen to yourself, pay attention to what you say.
Bring yourself into reality.
Being alone with someone you know and like is fine.
Being alone with someone you do not know who is living in illusion is not so fine.
Be alone with someone you like.
Get to know the real you!

Volcanos and earthquakes

Ever noticed how some days are just heavy days for no apparent reason?

Just feel a heavy head sometimes, a headache, a nervousness?

Well often it is not us it is planet earth about to remind us of it's power with an earthquake, volcano or other natural disaster.

So do not take it personally it's just your sensitivity.

Balancing

In times when you feel unease walk in nature.

Unease comes to all of us from time to time.

Next time you feel unease, go walk along the beach or forest or wood anywhere nature offers.

Escape from human pollution and noise.

Instant human fixes are instant and also usually instantly forgetable

Find the solution in nature.

Nature can balance us better than any human fix.

Let nature balance you.

Women smile - men scowl

Women smile when in potentially tense situations while men often scowl.

Why is this?

Women tend to compromise.

Men often go to the brink.

Why is this?

Men fight each other.
Women help each other.

Why is this?

Women live longer.

Why is this?

Maybe time for men to learn to smile.

Full Moon

Every month we forget that period of tension around full moon time.

Reminder, every full moon there tends to be more violence.

Mental institutions often need to sedate patients.

The police are called out more often.

People get on each others nerves.

Partners get irritable with each other.

Oh! and we all know that the tides are higher.

After the full moon the tension subsides so we can relax until the next one!

Mmmmm - 22

'In the last analysis we see that man inherits from himself.

Heredity is character and character is heredity.

And even in the case of the purely physical heredity, it can be said that man makes his own body, the parents merely providing the workshop and to some extent the materials with which it is built.

The incarnating entity is the directing power behind the scenes.

And environment is simply the magnetic field that we have chosen in which we may best work out those aspects of character that are the "dominant" for that particular incarnation. . . .

'Man . . . has free will. . . . He is building now what his character will be in his next incarnation . . .

He is thus his own heredity, his own character, his own karma.' (MiE 227-30)

At the end of all our illusions

No sight of any future.
Nothing is open to us any longer.
Too old.
No job.
No money.
Nowhere to go.
No one cares.

This is when things really test us and this is when we learn so much about ourselves.

For some sleep is the only release.
Others drink or smoke or take drugs, pills whatever.
Some argue, fight, whinge, complain, rail against the unfairness of life.
Some die.
Some keep pretending.

Maybe best if we accept that this is how it is.

Live each day as it comes along.

Then again it takes time to adjust that there is nowhere to go and that no one wants you.

Lots of time in fact until we realise that this is it, there is no rescue.

Can we face that we are left to ourselves and that no one is interested in us?

Can we find a way to accept this?

Scream if you want, no one cares.

Just play it through to the end that's all.

No threat here just how it will be for many whatever your wealth.

Way out?

As all the teachings say it's inside you not out there.

Let go of should be, could be.

Ask for forgiveness for all the bad you have done.

Do something nice for someone every day.

It is as it is so enjoy the beauty of this world, your eyes can only see what your mind allows.

Tell your mind to go walkabout, let your senses help you find beauty.

Stay in the moment there is little harm in the present moment.

Smile, you are paying your karma, next time will be better, next life that is.

May the end of your days be with peace of mind.

Constant motion

Business: colleagues, long hours, stress, tension, boredom, frustration politics run - run - run.
Partner: wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, talk - talk - argue - fight - conciliation - breakup.
Drive: stop, start, sit, sit, go, petrol, insurance, fine, pay - pay - pay.
Eat: swallow, chew, talk, drink, take away, gaining weight.
Sleep: pill, toss and turn, nightmare, lie awake, dreams, ever tired, waking tired.
Play: TV, movie, more hype, dvd, drugs, sex, smoke, alcohol, disappointment, let down all alone.
Exercise: golf, tennis, squash, cycle, swim, walk, sweat, feel good, feel pain, repetition.
Illness: doctor, shrink, diagnosis, consultations, pills, worry, decline.
Money: never enough worry - worry - worry.

Nowhere on this list is there interest or room for

Silence.
Sitting still.
Getting in touch with ourselves
Feeling harmony with nature.

Nowhere do we make time.

Time drives us and the days, weeks and months fly by.

One day you may wonder where did it all go?

Thought you had something to say.

Did you?

There is no tomorrow.

Get it right today.

Find time for yourself today.

Human Beauty

There is the American type, all symmetrical, production line, often vacant

There is the Italian or French, unusual features, often asymmetrical.

Then there is the media creation type which depends on hype for its credibility.

Then there is true beauty which has little to do with breast size or media creation.

That which causes us all to feel warm and appreciative.

We see it in little children that innocence, which is in itself beauty.

So when someone says that so and so is beautiful look twice is that beauty or just a pretty empty shell?

True human beauty is not just form it is that special something that speaks to us.

Sadly it is not a common sight.

Why is that?

New relationship

Amazing how when we meet someone new everything else flies out of our heads.

Our brains go walkabout and all we can think about is that new person in our lives.

Notice though how as we get older we are quick to discount the possibilities of lifelong bliss.

We have learnt through the pain of previous failed relationships.

Did we really, or do we still carry unreasonable fantasy demands?

Do we carry a list of criteria?

Do we judge?

Well do you?

Start afresh be honest

Be open.

Better to know up front than to build exaggerations and lies in from the beginning.
Be brave if it is going to work it will.

Have humour and let it go where it will.

Love is also letting go if it does not work.

Be strong enough to love.

Modern Christian heaven

There is no such place!

Can you even pretend to imagine for ever and ever?

Give you all you ever wanted and after a few months, years at the most and you would be going crazy.

And a billion years.

Ever and ever is childishness gone mad.

Did you never think about some of these things?

Start today.

Clue, the current teachings are not the original teachings.

Mmmmm - 23

'Sometimes he overshadows men of the proper psychological, spiritual, intellectual, and even physical temperament and works through them. These [are] Men of Destiny. They may not in themselves be even good men [but] they are used as instruments and tools to carry out, to bring to pass, certain things that are lying in the womb of time and must come out, and there must be a guiding spiritual power to see that the performing of these events shall take place without the complete wrecking of mankind. This is NĂ¢rada's work: a protector of mankind and also an avenger. . . .

Reality

Many people imagine their illusions to be reality.

So many live in illusion.

Illusion is just that false perceptions.

Let go of illusion, see clearly, drop your games.

Illusion stops your progress, stops life in a sense.

If you insist on illusion then don't be surprised if friends and acquaintances drift away.

Need a check on where you are?

Reverse your point of view.

As if you are looking in a mirror.

See how all the things you accuse others of are so often yours too.

Live with that for a while and if it fits then you know that you are out of reality.

Tiredness

For those on the go and under stress a minimum break of ten consecutive days per year please.

Our systems need this time to rejuvenate.

Our minds need this time to unwind.

Our partners need this time to recognise us again.

We need this time to know who we were.

Humour takes a while to recover.

Neglect this at your peril.

And no, you are not the only exception on the planet so just do this please.

Wait a minute!

I can't do this,

I can't do that.

It won't work.

I've already tried it.

So locked into our self-pity and depression that we cannot see or accept that it is us.

We have chosen to lock ourselves into our own perception of how things are.

Our very own illusion.

Not reality.

So choose to stay there if you feel more comfortable in your chosen illusion
of self-defeat.

Many do throughout their lives insisting that illusion is reality.

Or get help to step out and see things as they really are.

Move into reality.

Thought on love

The only true love is unconditional love, anything else is a negotiation, a deal an arrangement.

Example,I give you my beauty, my youth, you give me your money and security is one of the most common.

So back to unconditional love.

If one partner wants to leave and you truly love the other then you let go with love, whatever the pain.

Could you?

It's a tough thing to do and few of us are able, however that is the meaning of unconditional love.

Leave your list of demands at the door.

Enter love with open eyes and an open heart.

If the other cannot or will not meet you in the same spirit move on.

This person is not for you.

No rationalisations just move on.

How lucky we are when we find our incompatibilities early on.

Better living alone than living a lie.

Unconditional love is all there is.

Learn to live in unconditional love.

With or without a partner.

Karma

'Karma (Karman, Sanskrit) This is a noun-form coming from the root kri meaning "to do," "to make." Literally karma means "doing," "making," action. But when used in a philosophical sense, it has a technical meaning, and this technical meaning can best be translated into English by the word consequence. The idea is this: When an entity acts, he acts from within; he acts through an expenditure in greater or less degree of his own native energy. This expenditure of energy, this outflowing of energy, as it impacts upon the surrounding milieu, . . . brings forth from the latter perhaps an instantaneous or perhaps a delayed reaction or rebound. Nature, in other words, reacts against the impact; and the combination of these two -- of energy acting upon nature and nature reacting against the impact of that energy -- is what is called karma . . . Karma is, in other words, essentially a chain of causation, stretching back into the infinity of the past and therefore necessarily destined to stretch into the infinity of the future. . . .
