Your gut flora

To enjoy good health we need a healthy gut flora
.
Antibiotics wipe out all the flora in your gut so you lose the protection they give you.
.
And it’s especially dangerous to overuse antibiotics.
.
Overuse has created “superbugs” that your flora can no longer protect you from.
.
Besides this aspect of antibiotics attacking our gut flora many other things do so as well.
.
One of these is the industrialisation of farming
.
Taking one branch for example
.
Because of the drive for profit in the chicken industry many companies have switched from feeding the animals their native diet of grass, insects, sun and foraging to feeding them with cheap grains in buildings with little or no natural light
.
The animals get little or no exercise as this helps the industry breed them fatter and quicker
.
But this also makes them sick, so then they have to give them antibiotics to keep them alive.
.
And unfortunately, the antibiotics get passed on to you when you eat the chicken
.
Because of this and similar changes of diet and use of antibiotics many meat products today damage your flora
.
So to enjoy ongoing good health we need to look after our flora
.
And of course it is much easier to keep one's flora healthy than it is to try and build it back up after our modern world lifestyles and Western diet destroy it all.
.
So here are some ideas to help protect you and increase your flora
.
This so you can have more energy, stay leaner, and prevent infections.
.
Eat foods that promote healthy flora such as onions, garlic, asparagus, artichokes and almonds.
.
Also bananas, asparagus, chicory root, dandelion green, and high-fibre vegetables like leeks, peas, and beans.
.
Foods with flora already in them include raw coconut milk and yoghurt.
.
Be sure to check the labels as they should say “live cultures” so you know that they contain the kind of flora that will benefit you.
.
Also, sauerkraut and Kimchi are made by using live flora.
.
However eating these is not much use if you are busy killing your flora
.
So avoid additives and chemicals such as aspartame or Splenda
.
Don’t feed bad bacteria either: sugar and starches are bad bacteria’s favourite meal.
.
The more you feed them, the faster they’ll multiply in your body.
.
That can lead to fungal infections, yeast overgrowths, and even disease.
.
Not to mention gas and bloating!
.
Not to scare you but it is better to know where so many modern health problems start
