A thought for you today

Love and hatred are the only immortal feelings.

This being a teaching from the perennial wisdom.

We create ourselves our devachan - heaven as our avitchi - hell.
.
Meaning in modern language that we create our own heaven.
.
We create our own hell.
.
We do this while here on earth in this life now.
.
And we do this mostly during the last days of our life.
.
During the last moments even.
.
So that feeling which is strongest in us at that supreme hour; when as in a dream.
.
The events of our life.
.
To their minutest details, are marshalled in the greatest order in a few seconds in our final vision.
.
That feeling will shape or fashion our bliss or woe.
.
The life principal of our future existence.
.
If your dying thoughts are of hate then this will shape your future.
.
Conversely if they are of love then this too will shape your future life.
.
One or the other is what we die with.
.
This is why all the old teachings say how important our last thoughts are.
.
Seldom can they be created as we die, because they are what is in us.
.
A function of our life experiences.
.
No way to cheat.
.
We die with one or the other thought paramount in us.
.
It is that thought love or hate, which in a sense creates our next life.
.
This is the truth.
.
