And just who are they?

Who are the people who control the markets?
.
What you will never, under any circumstances, see a publication like The Economist do is ask the obvious question.
.
Who, exactly, are these omniscient and all-powerful Markets?
.
Anyone who has done any investigation into the subject of publicly traded equities and publicly issued bonds and securities will know that the ownership of such instruments is hardly democratized.
.
When we are talking about enormous private banks and their privately owned central banks dominating government-issued bond markets.
.
Is it not a wee bit irresponsible of us not to inquire about the relationship of our Dear Leaders to the chief bond holding interests.
.
In matters of peace and war?
.
Perhaps Merkozy have a cozier relationship with the key representatives of these elusive "Markets" than publications such as this would have us discover.
.
That might explain the odd early endorsement and strange cross-border campaigning.
.
After all, the Economist is the official rapporteur at the Bilderberg meetings: perhaps they could shed some insight on this topic?
