Iffy moods

Slowly slowly it creeps up on you
.
One day it is there another gone
.
At the back of your mind you are unconsciously alert for it
.
It?
.
The feeling of all not being well
.
I call it an iffy feeling
.
Whatever you call it the feeling is the same
.
Just negative
.
Down
.
Not anything easy to put a finger on.
.
Nothing much has changed in your life.
.
Just your own perception of it.
.
Feeling useless
.
No meaning to life.

Everything is useless.
.
And once you let yourself slide into it then it is tough to come back out again
.
We have been here many times before in these blogs
.
Today I want to share that this is the fight of your life.
.
If you allow iffy days to grab you and hold you then tough times lie ahead.
.
For many this is where they let go.
.
Depression is not far behind for them.
.
A lifetime of it perhaps.
.
Others drink do drugs, sex, buy yet more things.
.
All are attempted avoidance of iffy feelings.
.
For most of us iffy days come and go.
.
Unwanted but powerful enough to spoil our days and often our lives.
.
So some thoughts about the way out.
.
Our many lives are to teach us lessons.
.
So iffy feelings are one of these lessons.
.
Accept that we all get them not just you, all of us.
.
Second it is possible to push them back.
.
To do so requires several understandings.
.
The first is that the world is beautiful, despite man's best efforts to destroy it.
.
Man may well destroy it for a while however over the period of our many lives nature will prevail.
.
Our world will survive.
.
This understanding that nature is far more powerful than man is useful as it gives us a way to identify with it as our home.
.
Our own home because we are a part of nature.
.
Nature is our home, and yes it is beautiful.
.
Next we can focus on how we relate to our home, nature.
.
Do you even understand that you are a part of it and not just some sort of spectator?
.
Being a part of something means involvement with it.
.
Decide to improve your life by finding the good in it whatever your circumstances.
.
Appreciate what you have.
.
Not what you do not have.
.
Choose to be the best you can in everything you do.
.
Fight your iffy moods as soon as you feel one coming on, get busy with something demanding your full attention.
.
Something where you must totally concentrate so the iffy mood cannot sustain it's attack on you.
.
Look at your fears because they offer the iffy moods a way in by getting you focussed on everything bad in your life.
.
Removing, addressing your fears removes the iffy mood 'support base'.
.
It reduces areas where you are vulnerable.

Understand clearly that iffy feelings have power over you to the degree that you let them.
.
And no they do not go away or leave you until you fight them.
.
Iffy moods are with you for life if you do nothing.
.
This is why we say it is a fight for your life.
.
The kind of life you might prefer to have without iffy moods that is.
