Softer please

When in disagreement often our voice level rises along with our blood pressure.

How nice if we didn't have to go through such tense situations.

Do you ever look back at your "outstanding misunderstandings"?

We mean that often we do not clarify our comments or remarks and all too often the other party lets them go while holding on to a particular interpretation of the remark.

Bingo!

Next time you have a disagreement out comes the "you said................" followed by "no I did not, I meant................"

Too late!

The damage has already been done, and it is hard to unpick the misunderstanding and so all too often this gets added to the list of unreasonable things we have done to each other.

What to do?

Be clear with each other and ask each other "what did you understand me to have said"?

Be clear and if possible be softer too, it makes for easier understandings.
