Whats wrong?


Nothing.

How many of us have heard these famous words?

Many men have.

If you want to find out then you have to follow the rules.

Rules that are not written and can change according to mood and circumstances.
No good being in a hurry either.

The rules require that you proceed at the pace and manner dictated.

To slowly uncover the misdemeanour or failure.

After a full explaination you may apologise.

Arguing is not acceptable unless insisted upon.

Grovelling and begging forgiveness is sometimes acceptable.

And at the end of it all you might regain the status quo.

Until the next time that is when every misdemeanor since you met is remembered in minute detail.

Including the last one that was agreed to be expunged from the list for all time.

Men have their challenging side and women theirs too!

Growing


If you are not growing you are dying.

Are you growing or dying?

We exercise our bodies, sometimes.

Our emotions get exercised by life's experiences.

Our minds we often forget assuming that they are fine.

Overall a fairly sloppy way of ensuring our well being.

Well that's what everybody else does.

Yes and look at the state of most of them.

Lemming like behaviour is fine for lemmings but we are not lemmings.

Take steps to create the health you want for yourself.

Perfect health is only given to little children and even then not all the time.

So make a conscious choice to improve your total health from body to mind to soul.

Funny thing is we feel better if we make the effort so how come so often we don't?

Growing is the secret of getting the most out of life even as we age.

Stress over time

Most of us experience this at some point in our lives.

Unlike short term stress long term stress damages our immune system.

This damage can be permanent.

It can cause us to lose sight of many things.

The reason we are here.

Other actions and thoughts which could help us.

We get so locked into thinking and dwelling on this long term issue that other thoughts never appear.

What to do?

Live in this moment now, this moment only.

Do not dwell on the past it has gone.

Do not project the future it seldom if ever arrives as we imagine.

Jut this moment now.

Make each day purposeful, with reason, with objectives, activities where you have to concentrate.

You may not be able to do anything about the major worry or issue so do other things.

Other things that release tension.

Other things that have meaning.

Other things that have lightness.

Do not waste your life away in sorrow and pain.

Learning to live with stress over time is one of life's harder lessons and most of us will experience this at some point.

Ironing


How many people find ironing boring?

Apparently about half of those asked.

The other half felt ironing to be therapeutic.

A time for private thoughts.

Others needed to watch TV or listen to the radio while ironing.

Whichever side you fall on boring or therapy, try adding better performance.

Try to be the best you can while ironing, do it with more attention, better, quicker, more accurately.

Makes a difference try it.

For those of you who do not iron naturally this is not for you.

Just cars


Yes believe it or not there is supposedly some relationship between the very ordinary cars in the picture above and the young lady's feelings of obvious acute discomfort!

Vast numbers of magazines, articles, blogs, pictures devoted to cars.

Road tests about how they perform on deserted airfields where there are no speed limits.

Gushing prose extolling the virtues of yet another unexceptional new car.

And why would anyone remain interested when 90% of modern driving is in and around town in traffic?

Where you pay ever more for fuel, parking, insurance and repairs.

A huge industry providing jobs for people to talk about machines with marginal differences.

The light dawns!

In truth.

Can it be that our whole world is composed of marginal differences?

In reality there is precious little that is new under the sun.

So we are all caught in the mindless chatter of endless communications about marginal differences?

Time to let them get on with it.

Tune out mindless chatter.

Just a little white lie.

Is there such a thing?

Almost.

But not if it is just the easy way out.

Only if it is the wrong timing to share or tell the truth.

You know the difference.

In your heart you do.

So no games often the little white lie might look like the easy way out.

Observe how one leads to another though.

How they get you into trouble.

99 times out of a hundred the truth is better.

It's how you tell it that makes the difference.

The more subtle possibilities being hardly understood let alone used.

Vipassana


Whether the connotation is negative or positive, the common impression of meditation is that it is a withdrawal from the world.

Of course there are techniques that function in this way.

But meditation need not be an escape.

It can also be a means to encounter the world in order to understand it and ourselves.

Vipassana is one such, possibly the only such.

Every human being is conditioned to assume that the real world is outside.

That the way to live life is by contact with an external reality.

By seaking input, physical and mental from without.

Most of us have never considered severing outward contacts in order to see what happens inside.

The idea of doing so probably sounds like choosing to spend hours staring at the test pattern on a television screen.

We would rather explore the far side of the moon or the bottom of the ocean than the hidden depths within ourselves.

But in fact the universe exists for each of us only when we experience it with body and mind.

It is never elsewhere.

It is always here and now.

By exploring the here and now of ourselves we can explore the world.

Unless we investigate the world within we can never know reality.

We will only know our beliefs about it, or our intellectual conceptions of it.

By observing ourselves, however we can come to know reality directly and can learn to deal with it in a postive creative way.

This is why people study vipassana.

If no then what are the terms of your spoken or unspoken agreement?

Still acceptable?

Then stay and make the most of it.

Not acceptable?

Something changed, then time to consider, maybe time to move on or out.

Do not stay together for the sake of it.

If things have changed then acknowledge this.

Be honest with yourself and your partner.

Yet when we meet someone we notice their shoes.

Shoes are changing so fast now they are all colors, textures and shapes.

The old stigma against trainers is going now that they cost so much.

That comes later after our programming them to worry abouyt life and the so called future.

Help children to stay innocent.

Enjoy their love of life

How time flies when we don't see each other for some time.

Particularly when in this case Jem was only five years old and today he is ten years old.

The growth is amazing when five years have passed at this time in one's life.

Not only the physical growth but the maturity and knowledge gained in those five years.

From five to ten we learn so much.

What did we learn in those same five years?

A little more knowldege?

Some wisdom?

If we do not have children of our own have we forgotten their freshness and curiosity?

Different eyes


















Men and women see differently

No great secret in that.


Considering that this is so how come we get at crossed purposes so easily?

Maybe lack of attention.

Maybe lack of interest.

Just did not think.

And so it goes on, until the next time that is.

Smarter would be ot understand what pushes the buttons.

If it gets too much then time to consider what is going on.

Often we feel we have clearly said to the other what we do not like.

However if we ask them then they may well reply that they did not hear or understand what we had said.

So take the trouble to communicate clearly in different ways at different time if necessary.

Because indeed we have different eyes.

We simply do not see or feel the same things in the same way.

Not a cold but flu.


Flu comes in many flavors

All are nasty.

Drink lots of water.

If you do not have to do something very important then go and lie down.

Recovery is quicker when we are smart.

So either lie in bed for a while or take your mind off it by doing something where you can stop thinking about it.

Either way it takes days to go.

There is no short cut.

So acknowledge the misery and let it come out.

suppressing it with pills is not very smart.

So let it out.

They just add up and surface every time that button is pushed.
