Dynamics

Imagine that everything your partner says is true.
.
It's easy to listen to someone
.
Not so easy though to see things from someone else's viewpoint.
.
To think like someone else you have to be able to suspend your own perceptions
.
To let go being right
.
To abstain from judgement
.
It is also important to remember that they do not think that they are wrong
.
When they talk they believe what they are saying is right
.
This is why it is important to be able to put yourself in their place
.
To be able to understand from their point of view
.
Why should I do this?
.
Because everything in life has a dynamic
.
Up down, sideways, few relationships stand still
.
They might appear to though
.
On the outside that is
.
On the inside can be another matter entirely
.
Both of you have lives
.
Lives that influence your thoughts and behaviour
.
These separate lives when away from each other influence our feelings and thoughts
.
This is why being able to see things from another persons point of view is important
.
A skill that once learnt we can bring into our private lives where all too often we take things for granted
.
We all know how our partner thinks
.
Really?
.
If this is true then explain why fifty percent of all relationships go to the wall within five years
.
It is the subtle things under the surface that lead to relationship breakdown
.
However we can learn to notice changes
.
Often subtle changes
.
Changes that indicate our partner is not where we thought they were
.
Even if things are just purring along
.
Remember there is always more love to be had from your relationship.
.
A good relationship is about work and compromise
.
Work to understand each other
.
Compromise to help things along
.
Consideration for the other one's point of view is a major part of this
