What might be

As a result of the freedom to create?

Learning to create

Learning to create on our own

Learning to create on our own in childhood

Is now in the West a skill or faculty lost

This imagining of a possibility that did not exist before.

In modern times the imagining is done for us.

Prefabricated images accompany our stories.

Little is left to our imagination.

Storybooks, television, games all come packaged for us "ready to go".

Is it any wonder that so many children are depressed and frustrated by a pre built world filled with images of how to dress, how to look, how to think, what to think and the rest.

As adults they are rendered incapable of conceiving anything other than the life that is presented to them.

Add in manipulation, lies, distortion and we can see how young adults have a challenge facing them.

As a first step towards legitimate health, learning to imagine comes near the top of the list.

Learning to see what might be.

Seeing and exploring for themselves.

Letting go ersatz imagery taking the time to wonder at nature and the world around them.
.
And how do we teach this?
.
Some organisations do so by their very nature.
.
For most though these life skills are never learnt.
.
Led by the nose from cradle to grave.
.
Told what to buy.
.
What to think.
.
What to wear.
.
What to eat.
.
Where to go.
.
Come to think of it what is left?
.
Nothing very much if you have never developed that curiosity as a child.
.
You have been programmed to consume.
.
Grazing your life away.
.
Not too hot
.
Not too cold.
.
Just comfortably numb.
.
Fortunately for humanity many are still able to imagine.
.
Not only this the age of feeding and controlling minds is unlikely to last much longer.
.
Pity though that so many never had the chance to imagine for themselves.
