Our life is just




Life is just

Do you agree?

Probably not, many feel totally powerless to alter things around them

Never thinking that we ourselves have produced these situations

Each of us have created our own life and character

In what way?

Because these situations are the outcome of previous lives and thoughts

In a very true sense each of us is his own judge and creator

His own executioner if you will

For it is our own hands that forge the weapons which work for our punishment

And each of us by our own lives reach reward or reckoning

Nothing is left to chance favour or partiality

All is under the governance of law

We are thinkers and by our thoughts we make the cause for woe or bliss

For it is our thoughts that produce our acts

We are the centre for any disturbance of the universal harmony and to us as the center must return so as to bring about equilibrium for nature always works towards harmony

Man is always carrying on a series of thoughts which extend back to the remote past continually making action and reaction

He is thus responsible for all his thoughts and acts and in that his complete responsibility is established

So yes this life and all the others are just

We literally make our own present

And our future life
.
Be clear it is you who create what you are experiencing now
.
And what you will in the future
.
So laugh at yourself for you created what you now are

Having a heart attack alone




Let's say it's after hours. and you're going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job.

You're really tired, upset and frustrated.

Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw.


You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home.

Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far.

You have been trained in CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.

So here is how to survive a heart attack when alone

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack

Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint

Has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.

A deep breath should be taken before each cough

And the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds

Without let-up until help arrives

Or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating.

The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm.

In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

Tell as many other people as possible about this.

It could save their lives!!

Tougher than steel



The end of broken glass? Scientists have created glass tougher than steel out of five elements, including the rare metal palladium


Scientists in the U.S. have created glass that's tougher to break than steel.

The damage-tolerant metallic glass was fabricated by combining up to five elements, including the rare metal palladium.

Whereas the other metals add strength, palladium increases the plasticity of the glass and prevents cracks from spreading.

Dr Robert Ritchie, a material scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy, said:

The result is that glass undergoes extensive plasticity in response to stress, allowing it to bend rather than crack.

The rare combination of toughness and strength, or damage tolerance, extends beyond the benchmark ranges established by the toughest and strongest materials known.

There is one significant drawback - palladium is extremely expensive.

It currently trades at just over £500 an ounce; gold, by comparison, trades at £830.

However, Dr Ritchie believes the unique selling point of 'unbreakable' glass will overcome this hurdle.

Traditionally strength and toughness have been mutually exclusive properties in materials

We’re bucking the trend here and pushing the envelope of the damage tolerance that’s accessible to a structural metal.

Initial samples of the metallic glass were micro-alloys of palladium with phosphorous, silicon and germanium that yielded glass rods approximately 1mm in diameter.

By adding silver the researchers expanded the thickness of the glass rods to 6mm.

Adding silver to the mix enabled the University of California researchers, who also worked on the project, to expand the thickness of the glass rods to six mm.

Dr Ritchie said: 'Our game now is to try and extend this approach of inducing extensive plasticity prior to fracture to other metallic glasses through changes in composition.'

The glass was created by scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Institute of Technology.

seen in Asia and Africa




Decline of honey bees now a global phenomenon, says United Nations
The mysterious collapse of honey-bee colonies is becoming a global phenomenon, scientists working for the United Nations have revealed.
Declines in managed bee colonies, seen increasingly in Europe and the US in the past decade, are also now being observed in China and Japan and there are the first signs of African collapses from Egypt, according to the report from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
The authors, who include some of the world's leading honey-bee experts, issue a stark warning about the disappearance of bees, which are increasingly important as crop pollinators around the globe. 
Without profound changes to the way human beings manage the planet, they say, declines in pollinators needed to feed a growing global population are likely to continue. 
The scientists warn that a number of factors may now be coming together to hit bee colonies around the world, ranging from declines in flowering plants and the use of damaging insecticides, to the worldwide spread of pests and air pollution. 
They call for farmers and landowners to be offered incentives to restore pollinator-friendly habitats, including key flowering plants near crop-producing fields and stress that more care needs to be taken in the choice, timing and application of insecticides and other chemicals. 
While managed hives can be moved out of harm's way, "wild populations (of pollinators) are completely vulnerable", says the report.
The way humanity manages or mismanages its nature-based assets, including pollinators, will in part define our collective future in the 21st century, said Achim Steiner, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNEP Executive Director.
The fact is that of the 100 crop species that provide 90 per cent of the world's food, over 70 are pollinated by bees.
Human beings have fabricated the illusion that in the 21st century they have the technological prowess to be independent of nature.
Bees underline the reality that we are more, not less, dependent on nature's services in a world of close to seven billion people."
Declines in bee colonies date back to the mid 1960s in Europe, but have accelerated since 1998, while in North America, losses of colonies since 2004 have left the continent with fewer managed pollinators than at any time in the past 50 years, says the report.
Now Chinese beekeepers have recently "faced several inexplicable and complex symptoms of colony losses in both species", the report says. 
And it has been reported elsewhere that some Chinese farmers have had to resort to pollinating fruit trees by hand because of the lack of insects.
Furthermore, a quarter of beekeepers in Japan "have recently been confronted with sudden losses of their bee colonies", while in Africa, beekeepers along the Egyptian Nile have been reporting signs of "colony collapse disorder" – although to date there are no other confirmed reports from the rest of the continent.
The report lists a number of factors which may be coming together to cause the decline and they include:
* Habitat degradation, including the loss of flowering plant species that provide food for bees;
* Some insecticides, including the so-called "systemic" insecticides which can migrate to the entire plant as it grows and be taken in by bees in nectar and pollen;
* Parasites and pests, such as the well-known Varroa mite;
* Air pollution, which may be interfering with the ability of bees to find flowering plants and thus food – scents that could travel more than 800 metres in the 1800s now reach less than 200 metres from a plant.
The transformation of the countryside and rural areas in the past half-century or so has triggered a decline in wild-living bees and other pollinators," said one of the lead authors, Dr Peter Neumann of the Swiss Bee Research Centre.
Society is increasingly investing in 'industrial-scale' hives and managed colonies to make up the shortfall and going so far as to truck bees around to farms and fields in order to maintain our food supplies.
A variety of factors are making these man-made colonies vulnerable to decline and collapse. 
We need to get smarter about how we manage these hives, but perhaps more importantly, we need to better manage the landscape beyond, in order to recover wild bee populations

Update on bees in the UK





UK Bees are facing a poisoned spring

A new kind of pesticide, widely used in UK, may be helping to kill off the world's honeybees
.
A new generation of pesticides is making honeybees far more susceptible to disease, even at tiny doses, and may be a clue to the mysterious colony collapse disorder that has devastated bees across the world, the US government's leading bee researcher has found.


Yet the discovery has remained unpublished for nearly two years since it was made by the US Department of Agriculture's Bee Research Laboratory.
.
The release of such a finding from the American government's own bee lab would put a major question mark over the use of neonicotinoid insecticides

Relatively new compounds which mimic the insect-killing properties of nicotine, and which are increasingly used on crops in the US, Britain and around the world.
.
Bayer, the German chemicals giant which developed the insecticides and makes most of them, insists that they are safe for bees if used properly
.
But they have already been widely linked to bee mortality.
.
The US findings raise questions about the substance used in the bee lab's experiment, imidacloprid, which was Bayer's top-selling insecticide in 2009, earning the company £510m.
.
The worry is that neonicotinoids, which are neurotoxins – that is, they attack the central nervous system – are also "systemic"
.
Meaning they are taken up into every part of the plant which is treated with them, including the pollen and nectar.
.
This means that bees and other pollinating insects can absorb them and carry them back to their hives or nests
.
Even if they are not the insecticide's target species.
.
In Britain, more than 1.4 million acres were treated with the chemical in 2008
.
As part of total neonicotinoid use of more than 2.5 million acres
.
About a quarter of Britain's arable cropland.
.
The American study, led by Dr Jeffrey Pettis, research leader at the US government bee lab in Beltsville, Maryland, has demonstrated that the insects' vulnerability to infection is increased by the presence of imidacloprid, even at the most microscopic doses.
.
Dr Pettis and his team found that increased disease infection happened even when the levels of the insecticide were so tiny that they could not subsequently be detected in the bees
.
Although the researchers knew that they had been dosed with it.
.
Dr Pettis told The Independent his research had now been put forward for publication.
.
"[It] was completed almost two years ago but it has been too long in getting out," he said.
.
"I have submitted my manuscript to a new journal but cannot give a publication date or share more of this with you at this time."
.
However, it is known about, because Dr Pettis and a member of his team, Dennis van Engelsdorp, of Penn State University
.
Both leaders in research focusing on colony collapse disorder (CCD)
.
Have spoken about it at some length in a film about bee deaths which has been shown widely in Europe, but not yet in Britain or the US – although it has been seen by The Independent.
.
In The Strange Disappearance of The Bees, made by the American film-maker Mark Daniels, Pettis and van Engelsdorp reveal that they exposed two groups of bees to the well-known bee disease nosema.
.
One of the groups was also fed tiny doses of imidacloprid.
.
There was a higher uptake of infection in the bees fed the insecticide, even though it could not subsequently be detected, which raises the possibility that such a phenomenon occurring in the wild might be simply undetectable.
.
Although the US study remains unpublished, it has been almost exactly replicated by French researchers at the National Institute for Agricultural Research in Avignon.
.
They published their study in the journal Environmental Microbiology and said:
.
We demonstrated that the interaction between nosema and a neonicotinoid (imidacloprid) significantly weakened honeybees.
.
Neonicotinoids have attracted growing controversy since their introduction by Bayer in the 1990s, and have been blamed by some beekeepers and environmental campaigners as a potential cause of CCD, first observed in the US in 2006, in which billions of worker bees abruptly disappear from their hives.
.
Between 20 and 40 per cent of American hives have been affected, and CCD has since been observed in several other countries from France to Taiwan, though it has not yet been detected in Britain.
.
Although Bayer insists its products are bee-safe, French and German beekeepers have blamed them for large bee losses.
.
Neonicotinoids have been banned, to different degrees, in France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia, although they are freely sold and widely used in the US and Britain.
.
In the UK, the Co-op has banned them from farms from which it sources vegetables, but the Government has rejected appeals from beekeepers and environmentalists for their use to be suspended as a precaution.
.
This week, however, an Early-Day Motion was tabled in the Commons by Martin Paton, the Labour MP for Gower, calling again for the Government to suspend use of the compounds following major new controversy in the US surrounding Bayer's latest neonicotinoid – clothianidin – which is increasingly being used in Britain.
.
In November, a leaked internal document from the US Environmental Protection Agency showed that it was continuing to license clothianidin, even though its own scientists reported that the tests Bayer carried out to show the compound was safe were invalid.
.
Leading the calls for neonicotinoids to be banned in the Britain is Buglife, the invertebrate conservation charity, which last year published a review of all the research done on the chemicals' impact on "non-target" insects such as honeybees and other pollinators.
.
Recently the Buglife director, Matt Shardlow, said of the Pettis study: "This new research from America confirms that at very, very low concentrations neonicotinoid chemicals can make a honeybee vulnerable to fatal disease.
.
If these pesticides are causing large numbers of honeybees, bumblebees, solitary bees, hoverflies and moths to get sick and die from diseases they would otherwise have survived, then neonicotinoid chemicals could be the main cause of both colony collapse disorder and the loss of wild pollinator populations.
.
The weight of evidence against neonicotinoids is becoming irresistible – Government should act now to ban the risky uses of these toxins.
.
Bayer insists its neonicotinoids are safe for bees when used properly. Dr Julian Little, a spokesman for Bayer CropScience UK, said it was difficult for it to comment on an unpublished study.
.
It makes it impossible to look at their methods, it makes it impossible to check whether you can repeat the work, you don't know where they got the imidacloprid from, you don't know how they gave that to the bees.
.
But he added: "I'm sure there are some very interesting effects Dr Pettis has seen in a laboratory, but in reality, when you get to what's important to everybody, which is what happens in the field, you don't see these things happening.
.
Bees are very, very important insects to Bayer CropScience and we recognise their importance.

Too radical for you?
Maybe you’d rather remain a glutton for punishment
Continue swallowing non-negotiable declarations such

Living democracy of community movements

Cooperative ventures worldwide
While left and right, socialist and capitalist
Two sides of the same grabby coin
Solidifying the delusion that we get somewhere
Only at the expense of others
And—haven’t you noticed?—the game is never won
Over the centuries always a sense
Of impending emergency, of corruption and betrayal
The open field of existence
Tricked into gigantic hoardings of mine and yours
The question is
Do we have what it takes to clear the deck
And work out a new way of life

Popeye was not so wrong when he liked to eat spinach before a fight
The leafy green vegetable really can boost your muscle power.
It was thought the iron content of spinach accounted for its status as a superfood.
But researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden have found that the inorganic nitrate it contains is the secret of its strength-giving property.
They gave a small dose of nitrate, equivalent to that found in a plate of spinach, to exercising volunteers and found it reduced their need for oxygen.
Their improved muscle performance was due to increased efficiency of the mitochondria that power cells, the researchers wrote in Cell Metabolism.
They suggest their finding could offer one explanation for the health benefit of eating fruit and vegetables, the mechanism of which still remains unclear.
Great efforts have been made to isolate the key ingredients of a healthy diet, with limited success.
Nitrates could be one of those key ingredients.
They interact with bacteria in the mouth to produce nitric oxide, a physiologically important molecule with a key role in lowering blood pressure.

In ancient times the ambient or entire heavens - were considered at birth as being that which affected man

Planets were only seen as pointers or indices showing when and where the influence of the ambient would be felt

Modern astrologers for the most part would have no idea what the ambient means let alone how to calculate it

So today they talk about the influence of the planets

They have therefore come to leave out, to a great extent, influences cast by powerful stars which often produce effects not to be found under the planets

When such stars impact someone nothing can prevent its power or influence

Planets in those days were only held to be foci's for the influence of the whole ambient

So the next time someone offers to read your stars just ask them if they can read the ambient

So much has been lost and yet we still see ourselves as knowledgeable

Such has ever been the arrogance of the ignorant

Yes, your stars mean a lot but the ambient tells us so much more

Where does it go?



London traffic jams were getting worse

So the the M25 motorway was built and would usher in a new era of ease and convenience.

Well, everyone knows what happened.

The M25 facilitated new real estate development all around its circumference

It also necessitated the use of cars rather than public transport

Soon the M25 was jammed.

The solution?

Make it wider and add more roads.

Of course that caused even more development and congestion.

The immediate engineering solution of widening and adding more roads to accommodate the ever increasing number of cars only temporarily relieves the congestion

An excessive car-to-road ratio just results in a worse problem in the long run.

That is a perfect example of a technological short term fix which avoids the long term solution.

Technology usually has unintended consequences because it avoids any longer term thinking

Resulting in a worsening of the problem the technology was supposed to solve.

Globally we are near a tipping point where a lot of these technological fixes are becoming exposed

Exposed for what they truly are - temporary fixes

Fixes that hide the way they have ripped society into more and more tiny pieces

In this case pieces separated by roads

By money

By time

Because the technology divides us into those who can use and those who cannot

Generally speaking, unintended consequences are not the result of poor engineering

Everyone sits in his little sphere of interest

These unintended problems cannot be eliminated through tighter controls

Technology by its very nature introduces the possibility of ever more controls

A delight to bureaucrats and governments alike

And one they seldom miss

But the limited understanding of all the variables results in plethora of unintended consequences

Consequences that are now becoming clear to all

A planet raped and pillaged in the name of technological advancement

So imagine that we are living in times where many of these events are likely to unfold before our very eyes

Masaru Emoto



Is a Japanese author and entrepreneur known for his claim that if human speech or thoughts are directed at water droplets before they are frozen
Images of the resulting water crystals will be "beautiful" or "ugly" depending upon whether the words or thoughts were positive or negative.
Emoto claims this can be achieved through prayer, music or by attaching written words to a container of water.
Since 1999 Emoto has published several volumes of a work titled Messages from Water, which contains photographs of water crystals next to essays and "words of intent."
Emoto's water crystal experiments consist of exposing water in glasses to different words, pictures, or music, and then freezing and examining the aesthetics of the resulting crystals with microscopic photography.
Emoto claims that there are "many differences in the crystalline structure of the water" depending on the type of water source, which were taken from all over the world.
For example, a water sample from a "pristine mountain" stream would purportedly show a "geometric" design that is "beautifully" shaped when frozen.
On the other hand, "polluted water" sources will supposedly show a "definite distortion" and will be "randomly formed".
Commentators have criticized Emoto for insufficient experimental controls and for not sharing enough details of his approach with the scientific community.
In addition, Emoto has been criticized for designing his experiments in ways that leave them open to human error influencing his findings.
In the day-to-day work of his group, the creativity of the photographers rather than the rigor of the experiment is an explicit policy of Emoto.
Emoto freely acknowledges that he is not a scientist,and that photographers are instructed to select the most pleasing photographs.
Emoto's approach naturally drives some scientists wild, and several have challenged him to


double blind and triple blind tests
.
Many of these results were not particularly helpful as the role of the experimenters and their own


attitudes certainly influenced proceedings and results
.
This also infuriates classical scientists who are only slowly coming to accept the idea that
the experimenter influences his results
.
Such scientists also like to rubbish homeopathy, acupuncture and anything else beyond reductionist logic
.
In the case of water it carries the imprint of its environment, and since every water source is different as is each glass, or drop of water, each is subject to a unique combination of influences.
To stretch this further the water environment covers the planet consequently each drop of water contains the imprint of the whole
Emoto is showing through his work that our every thought and action affects every drop of water on the planet
Not only affects but imprints our thoughts and actions on that water
Difficult for many to believe, but then for a long long time everybody 'knew' that the Earth was flat and that it was also the centre of the Universe
Look how long it took to change that
Pope John Paul II only got around to apologising to Galileo on 31 October 1992, when he expressed regret for how the Galileo affair was handled
He issued a declaration acknowledging the errors committed by the Catholic Church tribunal that judged the scientific positions of Galileo Galilei,
Emoto has given us beautiful pictures of frozen water and hopefully opened the door to new thinking on water and what it can teach us
